Kathmandu Chapel Street reviews
28Staff made elementary mistakes and wasted a fair amount of my time, probably due to their inexperience in clothes retailing.
Hi i was looked after and purchased a jacket today from jo.great customer service skills a true gentleman.you are lucky to have him.customer service skills are not taught.jo is a natural.
A smaller Kathmandu store but has a very good range of items; I had no problem getting my size in clothing items I needed. The staff are friendly and helpful without being pushy.
Good but very expensive.even at sale the prices are very high.similar stuff available at competitive pricing by other brands like uniqlo etc
I went in and got five products, was only going there to get two. Anthony the gentleman in the store assisted me and went above and beyond showing me products and the knowledge he has helped me buy 5 items.
Great work and a really clean store with awesome product placement.
Go check it out
Shannon really knows about hiking and helped me pick the best shoes.
The best customer service I have had in prahran.
She deserves a metal, thank you.
Terrible experience there today. I walked in, mentioned that I have a gift voucher to use, but don't often shop with Kathmandu so I am unaware of the product range or what could be best suited to me. One lady suggested I buy a drink bottle then walked off on my face to unpack clothes from a packet at the desk. There was another lady there too, but she didn't seem interested in me being in the store either as the two ladies completely ignored me and chit-chatted away between themselves. I was clearly interested in the products other than drink bottles! I was even trying on some of the shoes waiting for assistance to see if I needed a different size.
I would have been willing to spend a LOT more than the gift voucher I had, if I only got some genuine customer service and the ladies that were in there actually cared about their customers.
Expected much better quality. Completely worn out after 1 season. It’s all shiny, I’ve bought cheaper jackets that lasted years before showing signs of wear. Won’t buy again
Not a huge range of equipment available, no water filters for example. On the other hand I got some cheap (ish) merino socks and base layers, and a decent price on some Oboz trail runners.
Michael the zipper wizard will fix any zipper from a bag or jacket, in no time and with a smile!
ABSOLUTELY DISRESPECTFUL I was discriminated against by an female staff member of not wearing a mask even though I had an exemption and at that time when I entered the shop 3 of the workers didn't respect social distancing and also that time that lady told me off didn't wear a mask as she was "drinking" water. She said to me to leave the shop and that this is their policy and it's private property so they can do that. DISGRACE and I would never ever again enter into that store in my life.
They should really educate themselves.
Can businesses refuse service to someone if they are not wearing a face mask?
It is mandatory to wear a face mask in all public indoor settings, and when travelling on public transport, in a taxi or ride share vehicle. There are a number of lawful reasons to not wear a face mask, and patrons must wear a mask unless they have a lawful reason not to do so. Businesses should not refuse service to patrons who may have a valid lawful reason for not wearing a mask. For more information on face masks and human rights, visit the Human Rights website. So long as you buy on sale good products. But this shop is very expensive. $400 winter jackets that are on sale for $220 which is more appropriate pricing. Avoid unless buying on sale from this chain.
Always buy Kathmandu. Never been to the one in chapel. The staff member is unfriendly. Maybe I got the bad one. Sad.
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING I was discriminated against by an older male staff member, asked to leave the shop as I have bad eczema and am unable to use normal hand sanitiser. I carry my own& am a clean, well presented human! You can keep your $450 jacket, overpriced and SO RUDE
Staff member not friendly! Very disappointed with Kathmandu team member at chapel st. Never shopping there again!
Staff were really helpful. They didn’t have my product but they called a store that would be open when I got off work and had them hold it for me. Great customer service:)
I come here frequently for bits and bobs as it's close and to my home, I always get great service from lovely staff.
Usually good products but bought an umbrella and its the worst quality! For the price you pay you would expect decent quality and not to be flimsy! Severely disappointed!
Went to try and get a refund for a product that is useless but due to it not being a “manufacturing fault” and only the product being built for rain and not wind they couldn’t refund me. You can get a better, cheaper version at the supermarket- I won’t be coming back to Kathmandu!
Maybe don’t sell a product in a city that can’t be used- because in Melbourne the rain comes with wind!
The bald middle-aged guy who I think is the manager never helps customers, just stares at the computer. There’s another guy who works there who is alright though.
I wanted to try a jacket on for $500. The lady refused to open the change room for me saying that they do not open it just to try jackets! I actually wanted to buy 2. Obviously I will go to other stores which will allow me to use change room.
