I have studied in this college. There was a guy for international student adviser his name was Alister Hunter. His attitude was very bad. Specially with the international students it was extremely bad. Overall the college was good but he is the only person for whome I am giving two *.

Great trainer and good class environment online and onsite. But the rest is downhill at the end of the course when you have to chase up admin on a regular basis just to get the certificate or results. Its understandable that covid has made all processes slow but the lack of accountability is disappointing and will not be looking at Kangan for another course in the future.

Look I can be forgiving as these are unprecedented times, but considering your one job is to ensure you respond to applications and get students in, you’ve failed miserably! First due to an admin error I get in to Community Service only for them to say it’s full! So I reapply for something else as I’d like to get in for mid year intake, 2 weeks and nothing, I’ve called, I’ve emailed, I’ve applied again.pathetic

Great! School not only does it care about Education but also I does not discriminate against anyone regardless of the mistakes they might've made in their lives

Finished all my class modules and completed all 3 external electrical exams and worked over 5 years as an apprentice even though the required time is 4 years and still being told by head of department i don't have enough experience even though my profiling says I do.
Something is clearly wrong with how apprenticeships are set out and run here as it is hard to find any correct information or help from the head of department.

The electrical teachers were great.

To be a tertiary educator.what a joke. These guys couldn't organise themselves out of a wet paperbag. A friend and I enrolled into a short 4 day course and we couldn't believe the level of incompetence. These guys are just scammers collecting government coin.

Im currently going to the Broadmeadows campus while writing this review and i must say its one of the most worse places to go to. The teachers rush a 3 hour class into 1 hour and only read the textbook but don't actually teach the content. All of the students could just read the textbook themselves and achieve the same outcome. The drive for me takes around 40-50 mins and its the biggest waste of time. I even tried not showing up to class and doing the work at home to avoid the hassle but i was told i wasn't meeting the attendance requirements and if i kept not coming they would fail me for the entire course.i paid around $700 and i regret the decision everyday. All of the 5 star reviews are because you get a reward for doing so. The teachers don't care about you not understanding the content.

Absolutely terrible. They hardly taught me a thing and come time when I went to my placement, I wasn't prepared and the teacher blamed it on me. I ended up crying in front of the supervisors at the placement due to the teacher pointing out all my faults to them right in front of me. Never again will I go back. The Essendon campus was a lot better. This one however? Never again!

99% of reviews are positive because of the coles gift card that is at stake for writting a review.
It is the most unorganised school i have ever seen in my life. There isnt a system in place for anything and teachers who have barely any knowledge in the subjects are teaching multiple subjects with very unprofessional attitude. They also make you pay large sum of money for a transcript which is just a scam to get more money. For this kind of quality of education, you are better off working at Mcdonalds. At least, you will learn something

(All comments below are from my own personal experience)
In 2016 I enrolled in VCAL at Kangan Institute (Broadmeadows) because I dropped out of High School for reasons not inportant to this review. The enrolling process was easy enough but that’s where the pros end I’m afraid. The culture here is barbaric and unprofessional, first the teaching standards for VCAL are below par and I would highly reccomend another institute (do your own research) or stick to High School. Secondly if you do choose to go here be prepared to be intimidated by groups of ‘thuggish’ students who will threaten you for walking past them, physical group attacks were not unheard of while I was here. Thirdly, a quick warning for Gay guys do NOT go here period, you will face heavy discrimination (Verbal, Mental and Physical) from students and in some intances from staff as well. Lastly, offers of drugs and alcohol are common with peer pressure very high, staff allow underage smoking with some teachers offering students under 18 ‘smoke breaks’. In summary if you a teen reading this I highly reccomend you don’t consider going here and if you’re a parent, Don’t even acknowledge this institution. It took all my mental power to endure 6 months here and it was not worth it. RUN.

In 2017, in a desperate plea to get my life on track I tried to enroll into cert iv in legal services online (kangan). The online enrolment process here is very bad. I don’t reccomend doing online courses here, instead I reccomend - Monarch Institute, do a diploma here if your looking for a bridge way to university, it’s what I’m doing and they’re great. #NotSpon just my experience. However keep in mind most course here are Business/Finance related.

My son has informed me of how bad the organisation this Tafe is. Teachers are always late. Students are kept waiting in hallways. They change days of attendance without notification.
