Johnny Baker reviews
64Wow! Drove over to go to Shedshakers to get beer, and to enjoy JB's. Great steak pie, lentil pie and Berry tarts. 9 staff on all working well and seem happy. Great place and to John we are so happy that you and your team are flat out even during covid. We love your bakery. Peter from Daylesford
Perfect place to stop for quality bakery food. Served hot and fresh. The cheesecake was also a personal favourite
Absolutely delicious bread, pies and cakes. Line up with masks on, sanitise hands and wait in line.it's very popular
Cutting edge, quality produce that is as good as any city. Butter made croissants and great savory pies. Always busy. A lifesaver for this city refugee. Fun set up where you watch the staff produce
Poor service.
First the lady serving us was rude, got us the wrong drink, I paid then she glared at me and said why are you waiting? Maybe a thank you and please wait outside would have been more professional. So we waited outside and saw a worker drop a pie on the floor, pick it up and put it back on the tray. Then they called us in and gave us our order. Missing one item. Got to destination and my husband got a lentil potato pie which he did not order. My vegetable flan tasted like it had tasteless frozen carrots sprinkled on top. Not a good experience.
Awesome variety and great coffee, keen to try allll the tarts; this time was the caramel macadamia so good️
Best baguette in a long time. Wonderful croissant. Goid excuse to travel to Castlemaine from bendigo
So good! Really glad we waited in line - the cauliflower cheese pie and eggplant lentil pies were the best I’ve had.
Great Beef Burgundy pie but be warned, this artisanal bakery is not cheap. Great for a treat every now and again, the quality never dissapoints
Just had the best gluten free pie I've ever tasted. Gluten-free pastry is so hard to get right, but they absolutely nailed it. I'd eaten it all before I thought to get a photo. Guess that means I'll have to go back and get another.
Only ordered sweet treats so can't attest to the savoury. The vanilla slice was delicious and not too sweet, and the yuzu cruffin had such a tang to cut through the creamy taste. I'd have liked to try a few more things!
Amazing pastry and cakes I especially go here since they have to be Gluten free, I normally get the GF beef burgandy pie and a GF chocolate cake. Everything my family and friends who is not GF and I have tried are really good quality and so tasty! There is usually a bit of a wait but it's worth it.
No price lists, cost 2 baguettes cost $15 wouldn't mind if they were good and fresh, however very ordinary.
Amazing bakery Especially liked Cauliflower + cheese pie and croissant. Definitely will be back again!
Simply one of the best pastry I've every had! Crusty and flakey on the outside, buttery and chewy layers on the inside. Very generous on the fruit toppings. It was breakfast for the two days we stayed here. A must try if you are in town!
Delicious baguette for lunch because today is a little hot for a pie. But from previous visits I can confidently say that they're delicious too! My partner swears by the chicken and leek.
Good coffee. Basic location but the real treat is the amazing baked goods. True tummy rubbing, finger licking pastry cook and baked goods artistry.
The almold croissants were sensational. Also enjoyed the coffee. Very popular with the locals, despite its out-of-the-way location.
We go here for the pies the pastries the cakes
We go here for delicious butteriness
Love all the things
