Jayden Ong Winery & Cellar Bar reviews
41Great place for an afternoon lunch out in the Valley. The food was fantastic, must note that we also had a side dish of roast pumpkin, we all agreed if it was any lighter and smoother it would be soup, it was awesome. Also had the side of Frekkah salad, not sure if this is the correct spelling, it was amazing, not sure exactly what was in it but loved it. Put this place on your Valley Visit list, and say hi to Jayden, he's a top bloke.
Such a wonderful place for some delicious wine and food. You can be here doing a super detailed tasting and learn heaps about wine or you can have drinks and food and relax. I have been a few times now and I can’t wait to go back! Also best wine in the Yarra Valley!
One of the best meals and wines I have sampled for a long time. Service, ambience, food choices all 5 star. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Popped in randomly before heading to Watts River brewing across the road and very happy we did! Amazing food, service and vino! The chefs summer menu was amazing, all local produce, the pork was to die for.
Great selection of beers and wines.
Highly recommend if you are in Healesville this place is a must. Enjoy.
Really enjoyed our time here. We had wine tasting and set lunch. The wines were beautiful and the lunch was just fantastic! The service and staff were really good as well, so was the atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anyone who comes to Yarra Valley and we will for sure come again.
I booked a tasting stop as part of the Hop It tour, as the description implied I would get a more in-depth and interactive experience. From my perspective, working in the brewing industry, I wanted to be able to ask questions about production and learn something new about viticulture. I was paired with Nolan and not disappointed in the least. It might be easy to pigeonhole someone in hospitality as being the person who pours drinks, but Nolan's friendly, approachable nature and technical knowledge was incredible. I may or may not have asked a few questions out of left field, but he was able to answer everything and have a good conversation about wine, beer, and everything in between. He was charged with looking after another couple plus a couple of younger team members in training, and handled everything with grace and ease. It's not many places you get to walk in and meet the owner, but Jayden was also behind the bar hosting, pouring, and making rounds to chat to every person who came in. Here I would again use the Japanese phrase 'omotenashi' to describe a fabulous experience, and would definitely visit again, just to stock back up on Moonlit Forest Pinot Gris 'SC' 2020 and Moonlit Forest Light Chilled Red 'Carter' 2020.
Great people that are passionate to tell the story of their wines. Really enjoyed the 5 wine tastings journey.
Loved everything about this place. Small but delicious selection of bites to be matched with their wines. Worth a longer lunch stop if you have time
Food was good and the staff very nice.
Me and my friends liked the vibe of the venue and had a good moment but the service was too slow and overpriced for the size of the portions.
Fun and vibrant atmosphere in an industrial area. Staff were friendly and helpful pairing wines and accommodating food intolerance. We took our 18 year old and it proved to be the perfect combination of fine food and a relaxed setting with a funky DJ.
We've eaten at Jayden Ong's on three separate occasions with different friends and each time we've been given a warm welcome and had a great time. The venue is super cool, tucked away in a location where you're not expecting to find a wine bar, and we love the outrageously oversized floral installations hanging form the ceiling inside as much as the casual country fire pits outside. The wine is excellent of course, but more importantly (for us as least!) the whisky is great and the food is superb. Everything we've eaten has been beautiful, but the chicken and steak cooked over coals in the outdoor kitchen are incredible - not overly fussy or complicated but full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The vegetable dishes are definitely worth ordering and they do much more than just accompany the meat - we really really love the chargrilled cabbage and could have eaten plates more of the stuff. Oh and the duck meatballs are delicious. Will definitely be going back to eat more of these and work our way through the rest of the menu!
Beautiful industrial venue, exquisite staff and service! But food is wayyyyy too pricey for what it's worth, 2 tiny meatballs for $18? !?: (
Very impressive space with a great atmosphere, amazing wine and delicious food cooked on a charcoal grill. We are looking forward to going back…
First meal out of lockdown didn't disappoint. A nice & relaxed atmosphere with tapas style food was more than what we could ask for. Staff were spectacular as was the food. Thanks for a fantastic afternoon and willll definitely be back in the future!
Lovely service and venue however food was really overpriced. We ordered a steak meal for two people, one glass of wine, a coffee and it cost $97. Steak was good quality but unfortunately we were both left extremely hungry afterwards as the meal was probably only enough for one person (we were actually wondering whether they had missed a serving) also we were offered a beer and sparkling drink with our dinner and it was never brought to us.
Gorgeous wines in a beautiful space. We did the 5 wine tasting and all the wines were delicious. Nolan was friendly and informative. Highly recommend!
We had a fantastic time. We stumbled on Jayden Ong's and enjoyed the chargrilled menu - especially the duck meatballs and lamb. Loved the winery's chardonnay a bit too much too! Will be back when we are next in town.
Delicious wine, great space and friendly, personable and knowledgeable service. Loved the BBQ set up out front and will definitely be back to try the bar menu.
Excellent wine and delicious food. Legendary staff. Very cool space. What a treat! I’ll definitely be back again. Thank you Mr. Ong
Fantastic new Healesville winery and bar, beautiful decor, lovely drinks and staff.and just round the corner from 4 pillars! You'd be mad to miss it!
