This is our favourite place to eat in the city. The food is always awesome and the chefs and staff are personable!

This place is a special Occassion place, well for us. It’s not going to be cheap, but it will be a delicious and memorable experience! If you are lucky enough to get Akemi as your chef, you are in good hands. She is awesome! Everything is cooked to absolute perfection and I work as chef. We’ve celebrated many birthdays here and it’s always been sensational. Their roasted sesame dipping sauce is gods nectar! Makes anything taste incredible.

For those that want a more contemporary/entertainment type teppanyaki (the type they throw your food in the air and do all sorts of tricks) then this place is not for you. If you want traditional Teppanyaki then this is the place though.

Nothing more warming than walking into this place and finding that they have not changed their way of service and food for years! This is a great thing though.

I was initially intrigued by its positioning as a 4-star fine dining establishment. However, I must express my disappointment with regards to the overall experience, specifically concerning the service, food quality, and hygiene practices.

As someone with an Asian background and a profound appreciation for Japanese cuisine, I found that the food quality of this teppanyaki restaurant did not meet the standard one would expect from an authentic Japanese establishment. The flavors were lackluster, and the execution of the dishes left much to be desired.

More concerning was the issue of hygiene. During our visit, I noticed a rather unsettling practice where the chef used the same spatula to clean up our waste food and then continued to use it to serve fresh food to other guests without cleaning it properly. Such a lack of attention to hygiene protocols is simply unacceptable.

In short, I will never return to this restaurant again. Melbourne boasts many exceptional Japanese restaurants that prioritize both quality cuisine and proper hygiene practices.

The best teppanyaki in Melbourne. Amazing service, fresh seafood and quality beef. The oysters and Moreton bay bugs are a must have.

A lovely Japanese teppanyaki experience. I chose this place over other teppanyaki restaurants because I wanted the authentic experience without the frills of the cooking show like the American version. This teppanyaki is also the first teppanyaki restaurant style in Australia.

The food itself was cooked well by our chef. I liked how the Wagyu was cooked 2 different ways to showcase the meat. Surprisingly the food was cooked nicely which I didn't expect for my first time.

Great food with peaceful environment. Great customer service. Delicious food, cooked with perfection. Wagyu steak, seafood was cooked perfectly. Although we were already full we tried green tea mouse which was mouth watering. I think our chef name was sun, great young guy. Thanks mate for great food. Will return when I travel Melbourne next time.

Absolutely DELICIOUS. Wonderful, fresh, quality seafood combined with melt in your mouth beef. Amazing service, brilliant chef, comfortable seating.just WOW, thank you. We would definitely return and highly recommend.

Incredible experience at teppanyaki inn. Great service. Food was amazingly delicious. Having the chef cooking in front of us was not only entertaining, it was an art to watch. The tenderloin was really juicy.

Had a family dinner here for a birthday. Our chef was very friendly and warm, and it was a mesmerising experience watching him cook and dining with him!
We had the special set beef tenderloin ~$76pp and a serving of the Wagyu set $98pp.

It was a homely range of prawn, scallops, garlic chips, potato, baby spinach, Wagyu and beef tenderloin, served with Japanese rice, a side of pickled cucumber and seaweed and miso soup. Plain, honest simple teppenyaki.

!? It is very expensive.
I understand chef is kind
but The amount was really small. A little shrimp, scallop, and vegetable and meat,
Boss needs things about that!

A really tranquil dining atmosphere with good service and a show with your meal! Definitely slightly pricier per person depending on what you get but worth the experience! Would definitely come again for a special occasion.

Had the family together my birthday dinner, this restaurant has been going 47 years in Melbourne. What a night!
