2nd time I've been. Food was off the charts amazing! So fresh! So tasty! So well presented. Best sashimi I can remember having in my life. Great cocktails. Service was the best I've experienced in a long time! Perfectly spaced plate delivery and pleasant staff. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended. Went there for early dinner and decided on $68 set menu. Scallop sushi was amazing (a must) as was the BBQ pork. All dishes were fresh, flavoursome and authentic. Best tofu I’ve had in forever. We rolled out of there so def enough food for us. Service was friendly, attentive and efficient. Does not look like much from the front but really surprising. Not massive place so worth booking ahead. If kids like Japanese they too will find something to their liking.

Seasonal menu, fresh excellent quality ingredients, efficient and friendly staff providing excellent service. This is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants. As good as anything I've eaten in Japan! I love Iroha!

Went with some friends and tried the set menu for 5 with some modifications for dietary requirements and some drinks. We were amazed by the quality and the quantity of food. Staff were very polite and accomodating.

We have been dining here from day dot and it is unbelievably delicious, fresh Japanese cuisine. The food is delicate, tasty and pays homage to Japanese flavors beautifully. The greeting you receive when you walk in is so warm and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Delicious meals! With amazing service. We ordered panko fish curry and the ocean trout and pickled wasabi poke bowl. Both meals were generous portions and delicious. Will definitely be back again.

Really nice small Japanese restaurant. Wait staff are really friendly and attentive however portion size of food is a little small. If you're dining inside, be prepared to be a little bit squished because it is a small place. Otherwise a great experience.

Iroha is a cute and quaint Japanese restaurant located on the hustle and bustle of High St. Service was polite and courteous. Presentation was stunning as dishes were mostly served in ceramics.

They also have a pantry range at the register; serving take home teriyaki sauce, vegan mayo, sake in a twist top jar or other homemade bits and bobs.

The menu is more on the dearer ($$$) side, but you get what you pay for in terms of food quality and flavour. Food was served in smaller portions than I thought, so make sure you order enough food. Miso soup could've been served in a larger bowl, but not a huge deal.

Great intimate atmosphere, perfect for a romantic dinner for two. Delectable flavours, every course was polished and well rounded. Portion sizing could be improved, but that's possibly my big belly talking.

Beautiful experience from start to finish. The wait staff are very attentive and we ended up trying the set menu. The dishes were well presented and alot of originality in the flavour combinations. The atmosphere is also very cosy and laid back. Highly recommend this place for a good night out.

An outstanding Japanese restaurant.
Their sashimi is quite outstanding.
And their service is superb.
I even got the T-shirt!
Great place; all locals should support this fine restaurant.

All along the High Street there are rows of McJapanese: tempura, okonomyaki and gyoza. Nice tucker, but depressingly similar.
McJapanese, Iroha is not. The menu is limited, interesting and carefully structured – much like the food.
Each dish we orderd last week on a freezing Melbourne night was beautifully cooked and delicately flavoured – nuclear grade wasabi hidden in some kingfish sashimi excepted!
Pork with pumpkin (this is not a typo; we could have ordered lamb with potato) was exceptional – so expertly cooked it melted. A hot salad involving eggplant was simply superb.
The service was excellent. Two people with a disability were attended with care and sensitivity. And the staff were unobtrusive without the now-common and frequent, ‘is everything ok here? ’
Iroha is ideal for a special meal and conversation across the table with a special person.
It’s tiny, and that is part of it’s charm: it was warm inside.

Excellent service, very attentive and understanding, as well as great food. Especially loved the ocean trout aburi nigiri ($17 for 2 piece but it really was delightful) and the agadashi tofu. A little on the pricey side; for example just normal salted edamame $10… but overall really good experience

Another Japanese gem in Northern suburbs. I really liked their foods including desserts. They are genuinely cooked and well presented. The portions were quite small comparing to the prices. Noting that their place is very small, booking is highly recommended! Worth a visit.

Such a gem of a place. Staff are accommodating and friendly. The specials board always has something different and yummy to try.

Highlights for me every time is the chicken karaage. The spicy dipping sauce it comes with is SO good.

Don’t forget to get some Japanese custard has a sweet treat before you leave.

Had a lovely night out with friends at this small but incredibly lovely place at Northcote. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and I would recommend trying the specials for sure. They certainly didn't disappoint that evening. It is pricey and the servings are small. The more substantial portions where the chicken karaage and the teriyaki pork, both were really yummy. The japanese caramel pudding is a must for any sweet tooth and the sake affogato was also good. I would recommend this place for the drinks and food but if you're really hungry and on a budget, your appetite might not be satisfied by the end of the night.
