Jang Gun reviews
71Great vibe in this venue highly recommended. Always ask for takeaway box you will find it hard to finish the large serving sizes.
Very good Korean food, also the service was nice as well. Would recommend the LA Galbi and Spicy Pork Bulgogi. Even with COVID-19 restrictions they still do their best!
The food was fantastic but the customer service was bad. Went to have dinner with friends here and heard them calling the name “Anne” as Allen for the table. Even when she repeated I confirmed and asked If it’s Allen? She pronounced Anne as allen to me. So it was miscommunication, however the Korean women was so rude, even after we paid and was about to leave, she chased us just to tell us off about having to queue and waiting for our name to be called. You should check with the team, and make sure u are able to pronounce the name instead of blaming customers. What a horrible experience.
My partner's go to for korean food. Spicy pork was the best. Used to line up to get inside but was faster and lesser wait time now as compared before.
It's an amazing place for eating korean food, the menu has differents options to choose tasty food such as bbq, fried chicken, soup, vegetables etc.and the prices are affordable what is good.
The spot is small and busy because sometimes you need to stand in a queue outside of the place for getting in there. Nevertheless, you can get the food quickly, also its atmosphere is ideal for spending time with family or friend.
Finally, The staff are friendly and offers a good service.
Always packed so have to wait around 30 minutes but worth to check it. Especially, spicy pork, Budae jjigae is the best in town.
It's a great hangout place in groups. They open until 4am in the morning. Tho it's a little too noisy at times.
Tried the korean army stew, it's great. Love the side dishes they served, kimchi is really good.
6 of us came and waited one hour standing watching people coming after us being seated. Approached waiter twice and was replied "were not sure when you'll be seated" both of the times. None of the staff approached us to update. They said seats were reserved but we couldn't book one when we called. Straight off horrendous and disrespectful service and disappointing experience.
Food tastes amazing and great portions for price.
Place is small for how packed it gets but definitely worth it!
I can sure you about this place is top Korean restaurant you have to try, there's nothing to complaint about this place.
1) The food: They're extremely delicious, well made and taste 9/10 compare to food in Korea
2) Staffs: friendly, nice and well serviced, remember to leave them some tips.
3) Decorations: simple, basic not too mess up. A bit small but you can feel how crowded and joyful they are
Authentic Korean food!
Friendly service and great food.
So popular that you should book a table first or come earlier. It's not a pricy restaurant, average speaking, $25~40 should be enough.
This is my favourite Korean restaurant ever. Often requires small waiting time around dinner, however totally worth it. The cold noodle salad, corn cheese, kimchi pancakes, Korean fried chicken, amongst other dishes are all to die for. Generous portions and very reasonable pricing.
Way too crowded for ok food and soju. Seems popular amongst korean (obviously) but I would rather try other korean restuarants in the same alley. Pricing was standard. $50-60 for 2pp. 6/10
The staff here are very nice. I had booked a table for 2 but arrived half an hour early, but the staff still managed to squeeze us in which was very much appreciated. It is a very busy restaurant and the seating is very compact but the food is quite good. We had the egg omelette and cheesy chicken, both of which were quite good. Pricing is also very reasonable and is therefore good for students.
Fried chicken, chap chae are my favorites. But most things on the menu are awesome. Staff are great and friendly. Place can get crowded and wait could be up to 30mins. Your best bet is to go early.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. We order the topu pot and dougbulgi, the soup pot is great with strong seafood flavor. The rice cake is big portion with authentic taste
Kimchi pancake Aud15 was good. Tteoboki$33 was also great but we were actually beaten by this hot spicy dish, we were told that it was about 5/10 to their standard, quite far from the hottest.
Delicious korean restaurant, staffs were friendly, good price, many kinds of Soju.
The toilet isn't convenient because it locates outside of the restaurant and you have to ask the staff the key for the toilet.
If you're looking for variation from your usual Korean fried chicken, Jang Gun is the place to go. They have good spicy fish egg stews and chicken giblets etc. The price is great for the quality of food and portion size too. A great place to grab drinks and snack on authentic Korean dishes with your friends.
This place is always busy and packed. Good food but some groups too noisy and staff never managed it.
