Jade Kingdom reviews
63 Had dine in before n was good but due to the lockdown we bought take away. I have never eaten laska with char siew, one piece of eggplant n 2 pics of bean pouch n one piece of chicken from curry. That's robbery!
Nasi lemak was so so beef was tough, bye bye Jade kingdom.
2020 covid update. These guys are still open for take away and the food taste as good as it ever did. Very fast. Original review: My favourite local Malaysian place. Great food. Ordered the egg tofu sizzling plate and the fried flounder, both dishes I regularly order, and they were pretty good. I'd also recommend the char kway teow.
There's a reason why so many reviews are positive.
JK's malaysian dishes are without a doubt the amongst the best in Melbourne.
Most places have one or two signature dishes. This place has a multitude of them, a consistently strong Malaysian menu offering.
The dishes are authentically Malaysian. Their best are laksa supreme, hokkien mee, prawn noodle soup, char koay teow, chicken rice, char jot fun, crispy style yee meen noodles, lobak, kangkong, roti canai, curry chicken, nyonya baba fish, beef rendang. All very very well done.
Their really good Chinese style dishes include yam ring, spicy mussels, marmite ribs. So so good.
BTW You don't come here for silver service. You come here for efficient delivery of delicious food to your table. People who come here and give them negative reviews for service, frankly have no idea what the place is about. It's suburban neighbourhood shop in a strip of four shops in Heidelberg Heights. So get real. They write down what you want, then serve you quickly and clear the table when you are done with your meal.
They are worth a visit.
Love the food here! Best KL-style hokkien noodles in Melbourne! Love the Baba Fish, Nasi Lemak and much much more. Avoided leaving a review so that the secret can be better kept - like that worked! LOL.
Jade Kingdom is by far the most authentic Malaysian restaurant in the whole of Melbourne. It tastes and feels just like home the moment you sit down. Affordable and incredibly delicious. Two thumbs and two toes up!
It was 40 degrees outside, inside was loud, warm and bustling. The 3 of us sat on a small table before they moved us to a larger table. After ordering, the first dish fried kwai teoh came out within 10 mins, then the others within 15 mins of ordering. Portion sizes are decent.
The satay beef does not really taste like satay beef but I still enjoyed it.
I went many years ago & feel it was better.then. They were very rushed & asked what I wanted, instead of giving me a menu. It would help if there was.a take away menu, which there isnt
Nice Malaysian Chinese food. Taste great, if u haven't tried yet, you should! The price is reasonable, similar to all other restaurants.
Great little local spot, delivering authentic Malaysian favourites like Char Hor Fun, Char Kway Teow and Laksa just to name a few.
Small and cosy with some big and small tables to cater for different sized groups be warned very popular on the weekends so booking is a must if you are planning to have dinner here.
Takeaway also very easy and painless if you simply want to take home as well. Parking can be a little tough but there is plenty of side streets around to park if needed.
An excellent choice of chinese / Hong Kong cuisine, won't be dissappointed. Reasonable price for the quality of food and service.
Came here with high expectations for the hokkien noodles. While the hokkien noodles itself was alright, the restaurant probably takes so much pride in it that they used the same noodles for wonton noodle soup. I guess using egg noodles for wonton noodle soup is just too expected for this avant garde restaurant.
Do not order the wonton noodle soup. The soup tasted about as exciting as lightly salted hot water, and the wontons would've been delicious if I didn't have taste buds that worked. This dish offered a gastronomical experience usually found in hospital food. At least it costs less than a stay at the hospital.
This place is amazing! We love most of all the dishes. Highly recommended if you are after authentic malaysian chinese food. Keep up the good work guys!
Jade Chinese Restaurant best ever - absolutely!
Great variety of choices - Beef in tomato gravy and Honey chicken to die for - yummo - team members very friendly and considerate - at least one of the team member has been here for at least 18-20years - only thing I would love for them to do is have home delivery - this would be great
Really great selection with even better taste.been here good few times and always happy with what I order. BYO as well so always a nice benifit
Came here because it always looks lively from the outside and I'd driven passed it many times. It was filled but still managed to get a seat by very friendly staff. Came here with my partner and we're given a broad range of options on the menu. We had wonton soup and a Jade selection plate for entree, which were both delicious. Pork belly with bok choy, fried buns and sauce for main which reminded me that pork belly includes the fat. I liked it enough but won't be ordering pork belly again due to personal preference. My partner had mandarin chicken which was absolutely delicious, still had the citrus flavour. I can recommend only getting rice if you are sharing a main between two, we had to take leftovers home. Very reasonable prices, well maintained restaurant, we'll definitely be back to try more things on the menu!
We went to Jade Kingdom on Monday to have lunch for a one-day-late Father's Day.
It was a totally satisfy first time Malaysian food experience for my parents. Is there anything can be better than this?
And the highlight of this small reastaurant is the lovely smiling from all lovely staffs.
Picked up some take away on my way home, this place is always busy when I drive past. Food was delicious, great food & friendly. Will order from here again!
Amazing authentic Malaysian food! You will not regret it! Book in advance to avoid disappoint as place tends to be full! Sizzling Japanese tofu hot plate and kangkung belachan to die for!
Great work guys!

There's nothing glamorous about Jade Kingdom but they continue to pump out fabulous Chinese food. The place is always packed but they still manage to have take-away ready in 10min. Keep up the amazing work! It is a local gem.
