Izakaya Jiro reviews
45 Food is really really slow! Would not allow us to order more when we are about to finish our food.
We have a long table and when we ran out of 1 kimchi, we asked for another but was told that we had to finish on both sides to order some more (even though it is a buffet and we have to pay for penalties if we have leftovers). It was really ridiculous. Not worth the money and we left the restaurant with empty stomach.
I would not recommend.
I ate here with my brother recently, and had a wonderful experience!
The atmosphere was very cosy and calming, and the food was spectacular.
The staff are very welcoming and friendly and when you enter the restaurant, there is a pretty water sculpture that creates a lovely sound and ambience.
As for the food, the entrees were delicious. I especially enjoyed the seaweed salad, it was a refreshing palate cleanser.
The spring rolls were cooked to perfection. We also had the vegetable gyoza, which has an acquired vinegary taste that I personally enjoyed, my brother not as much.
On to the mains, we had the ‘Salmon Teriyaki Teishoku’ and another Chicken Set.
The chicken was juicy and delicious. The salmon also had an amazing taste, however was slightly too cooked for my liking.
All the side dishes in the sets were beautifully presented and a great addition!
Overall, a great dining experience, I would definitely recommend! (9.2/10)
The service crawled at a snail's pace, and after enduring a painfully slow two-hour dining ordeal, I left with an empty stomach and a sense of regret. It's astounding how a buffet can manage to leave customers feeling both neglected and hungry. A serious overhaul in their service is desperately needed. Save your time and appetite – steer clear of this place. To add insult to injury, the poor management decision to assign a lone waitress to handle the entire floor was downright negligent. It resulted in an excruciatingly slow service that left customers, including myself, frustrated and hungry. It's baffling how such a basic aspect of restaurant management was overlooked. Barbecue Buffet needs a serious wake-up call in terms of staffing and organization if they aim to salvage their reputation.
Great place for a quick lunch. We were impressed with the bentos and the food was well presented and fresh. Will come back to try the other dishes
Average, slightly better than the food court Japanese but by no means high quality. Lots of overly salty dishes. If you can't be bother to queue up at Samurai then this is one of the other option.
The food here is really lovely! Portion sizes are quite small though. My favourite dish is the Shiitake Ebi Shinjo.
The restaurant has a relaxed and romantic ambience.
Its such a lovely place.the atmosphere and decor is wonderful.the servers were very friendly as well.we ordered a large range of dishes, and they came out in phases: sashimi, then fried foods, then hot plates and rice.it was a lovely way to enjoy all the dishes and take our time eating.all of the food was so delicious.the sashimi was wonderfully fresh, the gyoza was so nice and juicy.in particular we enjoyed the teriyaki chicken and the wagyu beef.would highly recommend.
Went for the $98 all you can eat, staff was super friendly and overall experience not bad. Food was quite average, nothing special but nothing wrong, all sauces are a bit too salty.
Food is not too bad however tuna sashimi was clearly not fresh today, when raised the feedback to the chef in the nicest possible way, it was dismissed and no action was taken. As a local customer it is disappointing to see what it may feel like a restaurant we will not come back to.
Perfect food, very enjoyable. All the dishes are high quality and delicious. Two menus, traditional and BBQ. Highly recommended.
Good quality and variety to choose from. Although there are some limits applied, they are reasonable.
Really consistently delicious and good value even after the ownership changed a couple of years ago. Lovely ambience, good service and just a very good dining experience overall.
Food was good, inside is nice to sit in. Staff are friendly. Only thing missing that would of giving it a 5 star. They need to work on there music, the music they were playing was so random it through the vibe out, it was either turned down so low you can hear people next you chewing or it was loud playing a random Whitney Houston song. Maybe just find a good background music playlist on Spotify and and have it up a bit. Stick to the instrumental music. Was random thing to review about but that's what I took away from it
We ordered from $68/head buffet menu - wagyu was ok, rump cut was tender but other cuts were chewy. Sashimi and nigiri were ok, not the freshest fish. You have 2hrs to finish buffet menu, not too bad if you're not rushed like we were. Ice cream dessert came out half hour before the end while we were still eating main meal. Not pleasant dining at all when you're being hurried out. Overall the food/dining experience was below average.
The meet there is fresh and delicious. Great food and dining experience. The waitress at the buffet was so helpful and friendly! ! ! Worth the money!
No skewers when we dined in so decided for a la carte rather than buffet. Had 8 dishes: tsukemono, tako wasabi, sashimi moriawase, Wagyu beef tataki, grilled lobster tail, assorted tempura, ocean salad and a bottle of sake. Not truly Japanese. More Japanese inspired. Would have the everything again except the tempura and lobster. Total was $170.
4 person 1 platter
20 mins in we have nothing left additional 5 tiny slices beef took 34 mins
Next 5 slices took another 25 mins
Time limit 90 mins plus very impatient waitress!
4 hungry persons in and 4 hungry persons left
Cost almost $300
It was just a disaster!
Staff were super friendly and nice, bento boxes were slightly average. Teriyaki chicken were slightly dry.
$68 all you can eat buffet. Ox tongue and wagyu rump were melting in my mouth. Very good quality for its price
My favourite Japanese restaurant close to home. Tasty, well priced and always consistent. The special bento boxes and chicken curry don our my favourites.
