Ivanhoe Medical Clinic

I went to Ivanhoe Medical Clinic back in October when I was having respiratory issues. I was told to wait in the car park until the doctor was ready for me. The doctor called me and said because I was a covid risk, I would do most of the consult over the phone (I had a negative rat test before going to the dr). When I was eventually asked to come inside, I was told to get a mask from reception and then go into the doctor’s room. On entering, there was no one at reception and no masks. I called the reception number and there was no answer. I then waited about 5 minutes before going down the hallway to see if I can find anyone. When I reached the doctor’s room, she got angry at me for not getting a mask. I did a nasal swab test for the flu/covid and gave back to them to send to pathology. The doctor refused to talk about the other medical issues I was experiencing because I may be a covid risk. I called a week later and they said that I would be contacted with the results. Now 3 months later, I have called again and they told me I would need to see the doctor to get the results. I called Melbourne pathology to see if I could get the results that way and they informed me that the doctor didn’t test for covid or the flu. I paid the full fee to get no advice or results, which is really disappointing.

I took my daughter for a vaccination today (6 months old). While I was standing in the nurses room (not even in the doctors room), the doctor came in to approve vaccination etc. I asked her ONE question about a cough I was worried about, she answered and left the nurse to do her thing. An interaction of 1 minute, maybe 2 …. They charged me $95! This is a doctor I have not seen before, and I’m shocked. At least should of been warned not to ask a question! Future reference, keep your mouth closed unless you want to be charged for an appointment. I would of given the nurse and reception 5 stars.

I can honestly say that Dr Nikit Chawda is the best doctor I have ever had. I’ve never had a consistent GP or clinic, but since meeting Dr Nik I’ll be happy to stick around for a long time.

Had my first consultation with Dr Nikit Chawda today, and he is awesome. Finally feel like I have a proper GP. Very glad that Mum and Dad decided to change over to Ivanhoe Medical Clinic from the place that we used to go to. Thank you!

I came in today to see Dr Nikit Chawda for the first time, after having many “not so great” experiences with doctors in the past. Even though I’m still a “kid”, Dr Nik treated me with so much compassion and respect. I’m so glad our family has moved over to Ivanhoe Medical Clinic, and am so glad that I now have an awesome GP. I'm a frequent patient here. I called to book an appointment literally just to get a script re-filled. I was told to do this it would be a 5 minute phone call. Wanna know how much it would cost me for this 5 minute phone call? $94. That's right, $94 dollars for a 5 minute phone call. That is an insane price. In case you haven't noticed, we are going through a recession right now. No one who is a Gen-Z or Millennial can afford those prices, even with the medicare rebate. Especially for a 5 minute phone call just for a script re-fill! You are going to lose your young clients, which is such a shame because you have such lovely doctors.

Ive been a long time patient of OMC - including my 3 children and Hb. Great GP's. Im feel the reception and admin face has lost alot of personal touch in last year or so - eg recorded phone answering on loop.sad to see long time front desk staff not there anymore; feels more impersonal

Excellent, kind and very caring doctors.
The reception staff was also approachable and very helpful.

The patient care and professional approach I have received from Dr Lorna Stanley is of the highest standard. I would highly recommend Dr Stanley to anyone that is looking for excellent GP

Is it a good Medical Centre? Its convenient. There is a couple of good doctors.you'll need to form your opinion on who they are.
The front counter staff? Well. That is the real weakness in the Clinic.

Unhappy. First time visit this clinic. Not professional in giving injections. Toddler was charged $53 additional fees while website says bulk-billing applies to patients U/16

Dr. Lisa Burns is one of the most professional and caring GPs. I couldn't recommend her more highly. She's been so helpful to me across a range of health problems.

Little or no waiting, good communication and caring attention to my condition. Further treatment and referral organised.

I have found the current reception staff to be kind and caring and I cannot speak highly enough of the Doctors of this clinic.

Staff polite. They explained new billing system to me clearly.
Doctor was excellent. Gave me a thorough check over & cautious re handing out Antibiotics script.

I like the walk in system, even I called the clinic and go the same day, my husband and I can see the doctor within 10 minutes of our first time arrival, really prompt and happy experience. Thank you Dr Satish Patel treatment, my husband headache problem finally got resolved. He is nice and have thorough assessment and give us advice. Vaccine and consultation are bulk billed which is good.

After approximately 40 years of being a patient at the Ivanhoe Medical Clinic I can only say that the doctors and staff have always been extremely efficient and pleasant people.

The receptionist at this place are so rude and very slow. Not experienced at all.
To top it, I understand mask are to be worn in hospital and GP but they won’t provide 1 if you’ve forgotten to bring it with you. I’m told it’s 2$ per mask. What a rip off.
This is a private clinic, you are making money already for my appointment and then you also want me to pay a mask to see a doctor?
