IPPUDO QV reviews
47 Good quality Ramen but I found the broth to be a bit salty. It's probably because I've had a better ramen at shujinko on Russell street.
Love their Chicken Karage Don, with lots of chilli oil and sesame seeds on top.
A nice and cozy place with awesome service and always busy and be prepared to Q for a table but worth the waiting.
Weekday lunch on a cold day, every time the door opened the whole place was freezing indoors! Had a special Tan Tan ramen and it was very yummy especially with fresh onion, tomato, and coriander topping!
We got seated right away. Came 40mins before dinner rush. Service was quick. Im happy with my spicy and garlic-y broth choice. My partner had the original broth and he was happy with it too.
Had the Karaka-men the original broth topped with a scoop of spicy-miso ground pork and roasted cashew, and served with thin, wavy noodles
The service, atmosphere, quality of food, all the staff were smiling and super helpful and friendly! Best ramen I have had in my life!
Previously I went to Ippudo in San Francisco and enjoyed it so I was hoping for a good repeat in this store in Melbourne. While my ramen is good, the egg that it comes with was cold on the lips in the middle by the time I fully bite into the egg. I asked the waitress to see if this is normal and she can’t seem to answer. I don’t want to finish the egg in case it wasn’t properly cooked and I may get sick. A bit disappointing.
I gave it a try as a friend really thinks highly of this Franchise. Personally i think it's one of a good ramen places in Melbourne for the broth, but not much of the better quality that I was expecting for the reputation it has.
It's good to be able to start with the basic ramen and add on some toppings of your choice, or just go with the 'special' option that's pretty pricey.
Menu as at March2023
I notice the aka ramen, miso paste has changed. I honestly prefer the old miso paste.tastes a little weird.otherwise no complaints about service or food
Absolutely loved the karakamen, the level 3 spice gave me a real kick. The chicken bun was also pretty good, juicy and soft.
. Was so tired/drained until.
I found IPPUDO!
Staff here were fantastic & friendly & the service was excellent. Chef was singing & my food was wonderful. I walked out with a bounce in my step
Please don't do auto reply with always the same sentences among the reviews! It's also useless to contact your email or tell to your store manager! One time I told the manager about the ramen I ordered, but the manager just can't accept any complain or even a suggestion. Too many excuses!
OMG! Too salty, compare with their main shop in Fukuoka. I could not drunk the soup. The Gyoza is very salty too.
Ippudo serves up authentic Japanese cuisine with style. Friendly staff makes the experience even better. This chicken karaage was top notch with a crispy coating and flavoursome, tender meat. Served with an onsen tamago, it was a delicious meal that made freedom day just a tad sweeter!
Solid spot for ramen in a really convenient location. The service is quick and friendly, and there are a few options to have alongside your ramen.
I enjoyed the broth and options to customise it depending on your preference of how you like your noodles to be cooked, and if you want to add any toppings/extras.
Papers please! No Ahnenpaß no entry.
AVOID!
Owners only too happy to train staff into covid zealots, supporting the current medical apartheid in communist Victoria.
One of my fave walk in Japanese restaurants in Melb CBD. This place doesn't take bookings and the toilets are located at a lower level at the QV shopping center. I normally order the Bonito ramen but I thought I would try the Unagi don today. Very nice though I wish there was more eel. My friend and I also ordered the Takoyaki which was lovely but the yam fries tasted like normal fries.
The ramen here is extremely rich and decadent in flavour. Every choice on the menu provides a different taste but still falling under the philosophy of “Zu Zutto” as coined by the store as its hard to resist gulping it all down.
My favourite, the Akamaru Special, the harmony between the noodles, chashu, egg, broth and seaweed among other components creates a wonderful Japanese matrimony of taste.
The serving sizes of each bowl is appropriate and the kendama for $1 is a nice extra touch too. I never fail to completely finish a bowl, broth and all for every visit.
The store presents itself as a modern take on Japanese interior design, scattered with red and white chairs acting as a motif for the classic and modern ramen bowls.
My always go to order from them is their Karaka Men! Because I do love Spicy
And I don’t know why every time I eat Ramen, I always need to order Gyoza for the sides? I feel like it’s a must
I love to choose the ‘Hard’ texture for the noodles, what’s yours?
I was so happy that they separated the noodles, toppings and the soup when it’s come to delivery
Definitely you need to reheat the soup but what I like the most was the texture of the noodles wasn’t change at all
Great job
I was impressed when I went there first time, cos they have exactly same taste as I had in Japan! The soup is rich but smooth and perfect with thin noodle! Staffs are always not friendly, so don’t expect they give you Japanese hospitality service, this is only one thing disappointed. That’s why I couldn’t put 5 stars. Sorry. But I’ll come cos of their ramen is better than gensuke’s Tonkotsu soup! But you have to wait for long time. There is always long line.
