Impro Melbourne reviews
26Great place to go see some fantastic impro and an even better place to learn how to do it yourself. The teachers and the courses are fabulous, and even if you never intend to step out on stage in public, the skills you learn will instantly improve your life
The best improv classes I've ever taken, hosted by a warm and intelligent group of beautiful humans. I would recommend this school to anyone, introvert or extrovert. It's a breath of fresh air and may just change your life.
Brilliant range of workshops and courses, diverse and experienced performer teachers and a variety of clever shows and programs.
Awesome for shows, and for learning improvised theatre. The most experienced teachers with a real focus on making sure everyone in the room is comfortable.
I did the spontaneity course and it was fantastic. Fun, energetic, safe environment. Able to be myself, discover my inner confidence with receiving compliments and so much more. A must do course. I'm already signed up for the next one in July.
The workshops have been so much fun, with lots of skills I can use in navigating conversations and relationships in work or other areas of life. The teachers and students have all been lovely too!
It was early 2021 and after finally coming out of the long lockdown I was eager for human interaction. I found the free Impro workshop and (because I love free things) knew that it would be a great experiment. I wasn't expecting to have so much fun! I immediately signed up for a term of Spontaneity and am still doing Impro workshops now, over a year later. The instructors are all incredible and so passionate about Impro, I've made some amazing friends and it's the highlight of my week! I definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys a good time:)
Impro Melbourne is laughter in a can! (In fact, I wish I had a can because I laughed so much that I wet myself!)
Excellent teaching for skills that transcend performing. The Spontaneity course was exactly what I needed post-lockdown. It was fun, safe, social and therapeutic. Thanks, Impro Melbourne, for helping me be present and express my authentic self.xo
So pleased to hear that the Impro Melbourne gang are back performing, if you haven’t been it’s an absolute must, the most entertaining night out and it doesn’t break the bank! Every time I’m in Melbourne I go if they’re performing. I’ve also done one of their classes series during lockdown - it was fabulous!
What a unique, joyful and fun class! We did an intro beginners class and loved every second of it. 11/10
I took the Spontaneity course with Katherine and the Songprov course with Tim. Both teachers encouraged a friendly, positive, inclusive, and challenging environment in class. I would definitely recommend Impro Melbourne to people looking to get into improvisation!
The trainers are gifted at drawing out the best in people and setting up all performers for success in a fun, encouraging and flexible manner, working to people's strengths. My fellow performers/participants are just as playful and supportive, creating a wonderful environment to step out of your comfort zone and develop your skills and confidence as a communicator in ways that positively impacts all areas of life! Love it! Thank you!
Having done classes at a few different schools, Impro Melbourne and their teachers have done a really great job in creating a warm, welcoming environment that's full of positive energy. It's one of the reasons I keep going back to do classes here, as this supportive environment helps to quickly dispel any nerves or anxiety that comes with starting or trying something new
The teachers are highly experienced and knowledgeable, and create a safe and supportive environment to learn how to improvise, be creative, and take risks. Their classes are varied and have a great progression from beginner courses to more advanced techniques.
Well taught high quality online / offline classes, had great fun, laughed alot, check them out.
If you’re wanting to improve your spontaneity, creativity, storytelling, theatre making skills (or all of these), check out the improv classes here - they offer classes both in person and online. Lovely staff, students and tribe to add some laughter and joy in life
An inclusive, welcoming and warm environment which fosters laughter, play, spontaneity and individuality. Join in!
The classes were such a great experience, helping me in my public presentations, writing, and conversation in general. I also love seeing the impro Melbourne shows and in fact am writing this review at a show right now!
I've been doing their courses and watching the shows for about 3 years now. The courses have been great for self-confidence, embracing the silly and interacting with others. The shows are so much fun, especially the singing ones! Laughing every week with like-minded people is THE best antidote.
