The ice cream shop is located in a rather nice environment, unfortunately the ice cream is not as good as I thought especially the strawberry flavor.

The initiative to involve commercial businesses, like this, in the biennial of the photographic exhibition was very nice, with a better ice cream it would have been a different experience.

I spen a few days in a Ballarat between Christmas/New Year, and was introduced to il Piccolo Gelato by my mother.

Over the course of four days, I visited the store twice, and ordered 3 take home containers and two cups.

I have never eaten more gelato in my life.and I have never had better gelato in my whole life.

I cannot recommend Il Picolo Gelato enough, it should be a mandatory stop if you go to Ballarat.

The best gelato I've ever had and the cones are so delicious! Cheery staff anf heaps of covid-safe ventilation.

So delicious, freshly made with many choices of new flavours whenever you go there. There is always a good selection of dairy free options available too! Thoroughly recommend. Once you try, you will definitely go back.

My son who is allergic to eggs and dairy loved the icecream. He had 3 options and the staff were 100% aware of the ingredients of their products.

Amazing gelato! I had a half and half Choc-Orange/Pistachio half litre tub, served by a very friendly guy. Beautiful food to eat on a brisk Ballarat day!

Pretty average, standard flavours, bright colouring and small servings. It's probably the best in town but not a patch compared to Melb.

Great authentic Italian gelato. My wife had the Ferrero Rocher flavour and said it was just as good as the one she had in Sorrento, Italy.

Great gelato. This may sound weird but they call their sorbet, 'sorbetto' and that is not right. They told me that is what it is called in Italy and just no, it is not. I lived there for two years and sorbetto is sometimes used to refer to a froozen fruit smoothie that is not granita.

Loved it. We got a take away container. Pretty sure they didn't charge us for cones. They do tastings also. Definitely worthy yum!

The Gelati shop has much more then just basic gelato! Each time you visit there's a different range of in house made flavours of gelati and icecream to die for! I strongly encourage that you give this tiny shop a visit as it's truly a hidden gem of ballarat.

Wow, this was amazing. We had the chocolate, and the summer fruits and white chocolate. Flavours were great and the texture was incredible. Can't wait to come back.

Heavenly tasting ice creams that were fresh and flavoursome. They had good options to choose from and I loved the cone option. If you prefer a cup that was available too. It had some seating inside and outside but sufficient space to stand and enjoy your ice cream. Am certainly going back here for sure.

This place is fantastic! Their flavours are amazing and they clearly mark any Gelato that contains nuts or gluten. The Creme Brulee, Hazelnut and Cookies are a must try!

It was a wet, somewhat cold day but my partner wanted to try the gelato. So she bought dual flavours and let me taste some. Immediately, I had to buy one for myself. The gelato was creamy, a beautiful texture and amazing flavours. Mine was rum'n'raisin - the only flavor I ever get - and the one from Il Piccolo Gelato has been the best. Well worth the price, (it was an average price for gelato). Staff were lovely, helpful and friendly.
