iCanMed

I used iCanMed along with medify to complete my ucat for 2023.

Firstly, the courses itself are extremely comprehensive, and the tutorials they provide to properly complete questions are absolutely fantastic. You really learn the best ways to go about completing each question.

However, this course is not for everyone. I found far too few questions were provided for each question type before you supposedly "mastered" a certain question type. I personally scored a 3150 ucat, however could not reach the expectation of competency for each question type after completing the provided questions in each course - they are quite unrealistic in the progress you are required to achieve. Much more time was spent on reviewing these questions instead, which I eventually found to be redundant. Personally this extremely extensive review and reflect method they tell you that you must did not help me, although I do know others that thrive off this method, so really it is a matter of how you feel you best learn.

This is also quite a costly programme, especially combined a medify subscription so please keep that in mind.

Personally, I feel Medify is a better way to study ONLY after you learn the skills and tutorials provided by iCanMed. Please note that in each tutorial, they tell you that you must fully follow their course otherwise you will fail - do not be intimidated by this as I know if I stuck only to their course I will not have done anywhere near as well as I did.

So please keep in mind, in learning the basics of ucat, this course is great, but after that I advise hammering out questions and mocks on medify to sharpen your skills.

In Year 11, I was working hard on UCAT resources and tutorials I found online but I was not seeing any improvement and still had no clue how to solve questions. I tried finding resources and used other websites but still struggled to understand how to do the questions.iCanMed gave me access to step-by-step tutorials on understanding the question types and how to decode questions and solve it. It took time but I learnt all the important parts of the process which eventually made it easier to answer questions. The online community is really helpful and if I had any doubts there was help available.

The Michael and Ashton are fantastic in their teaching approach and ensured that I understood what was taught and if I had any questions to not hesitate and was left with no doubts.

Would highly recommend their interview pro course as it has invaluable lessons that I could not find from other resources and I also recommend their UCAT course.

ICanMed is definitely the most comprehensive UCAT course there is. They teach detailed and specific strategies for every question type you could encounter in the UCAT, with targeted problem-solving strategies to address anything you may be struggling with. The course itself is very structured and easy to follow, which made it much easier for me to balance UCAT preparation with school. I would recommend starting this course as early as possible and putting in the effort and time to learn the strategies that they teach to get the most out of it. The amount of effort put into this course is amazing, and Michael and Ashton have been truly so supportive during the entirety of my UCAT journey.

They also checked up on me to make sure I was not slacking off and that I was on track with everything.

Apart from stellar UCAT and interview tutoring, iCanMed also teaches their students time-management techniques to keep enough time to properly prepare for the UCAT and interviews without sacrificing their ATAR.

Till today I am truly grateful to Ashton, Michael and the whole iCanMed team for helping me achieving my dreams of studying medicine; and I would 100 percent recommend their programme to anybody who really wants to excel in the UCAT and the Medical Interviews.

I am ex-student of Michael Tsai, the founder of iCanMed. I definitely can say I had benefited a lot from his courses, which has led me to where I am as a GP specialist in New Zealand. Foremost of all, he is an excellent teacher. He can break down problems and questions into pieces so that the students can comprehend the principles of solving them and apply the skills you learn from them. Also, he is a caring teacher.
