I Love Dumplings Express reviews
43Highly recommended the chilli green beans with pork mince - my favourite dish from here. The food is a good price and the quality is super consistent! The dumplings are excellent with sichuan chilli sauce - unless you're a typical Gweilo and can't handle spice ;)
I got takeaway from here last week. They have delicious dumplings, it makes sense given that their name is ‘I love Dumplings Express’.
However, the beef with Mongolian sauce was sweet and not savoury, quite shockingly bad and did not match up to expectations. Soy sauce was necessary to be added to make it bearable.
The sweet and sour pork was average, portion size was reasonable but was not crispy on the outside like it should be and was rather soggy.
Overall disappointing and would only come back for the dumplings.
First time ordering here and will not be the last, food was so fresh and delicious! Soup was so tasty. Kids loved the dumplings! So tasty and staff was so friendly. Will be back 10000%!
Amazing service from these guys, have had a terrible Uber driver who never showed up at the restaurant, the staff went out of their way to call me and apologise for the wait as well as inform me they are remaking my food that has been sitting there for an hour.
I have also never been disappointed by their dumplings.
Work nearby and regularly come to this place for the boiled pork/chive dumplings for lunch. The dumpling meat filling is always tasty and juicy. Good value for money. Haven't tried the other dishes. Seems recently there has been change of staff and menu but dumplings are still good. Also whenever I go there it's never busy and you can relax. In my experience service has been good. Only slight con is the restaurant environment can be improved a bit.
Gorgeous dumplings.
Unfortunately I dropped one of them on my floor and in my excitement to eat my dumpling I forgot about it. In four minutes when I had finished my dumplings and spring rolls I brought my dishes back to the kitchen and slipped on the forgotten dumpling. I threw out my coxis bone and may need surgery.
Will definitely be returning for more dumplings after my surgery. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is that I got a piece of pork stuck.in my teeth afterwards for five days.
Good dumplings, very good number of dumplings for price.
Unfortunately my order wasn't ready in time today. In fact they hadn't even started my order when I walked in. Considering the lack of parking around the Preston store, it's pretty inconsiderate.
2 months later - found out that the preorder function on their website is NOT the time your food will be ready if you order steamed dumplings. They need 30 more minutes for the steamer to heat up. No one thought to call to tell me. Nothing. Very poor. This needs to be changed. If they can't get the food ready by the time they say, then they need to say a different time!
Really disappointing, most of what we ordered was just bland tasteless, especially the steamed prawn and chicken dumplings, and they didn’t follow order instructions, asked for things to be excluded and they said yes, then added them anyway. The place itself was extremely dirty, tables weren’t wiped down, food left sitting on tables when people had left for ages, they weren’t even busy! The worst part was the cutlery, took a fork and it still have food on it, revoltingly. Won’t be back.
Accepted an order then called after 90 minutes to cancel because they couldn't make it. Would have been great to have been told that as the order was placed and not after 90 mins so we could have figured something out and ate at a reasonable time.
Edit - Owner has responded but there is no way to reply. The driver didn't cancel the order. The store called me asking me to cancel because they didn't know how to. They said they couldn't make the order due to stock. If they rejected the order initially, I wouldn't have left the review. This is because that call came 90 minutes after the order.
First time going but everything was delicious, except the Xiao Long Bao seemed commercially made and a bit nqr
Food just ok but the place needs a good clean.
The floor was dirty and the tables needed wiping down.
We ordered dumplings a few weeks back and they were great. We thought to try their other dishes now and it was the blandest food I have ever had. The special fried rice is basically their steamed rice mixed with bland diced vegetables. It was worthless. The minced pork with beans had no mince unless of course you gave a microscope to see it. So you should order a meat dish with it if you decide not to take my advice and stay away. There are so many Chinese take away places around and so I feel rather foolish to have landed here but that is what you get from a franchise.
Decent cheap & chearful dumplings. They're a little too consistent for a dumpling purist but not bad for someone in need of a dumpling fix. Super slow service though on the night (only 2 people working a Thursday night), hoping this isn't the norm.
They are only cooked frozen mass produced dumplings that you can simply make them yourself with supermarket frozen dumplings, and might even taste better than these.
Such bland food, no flavor at all. Wont order again. Preston has so many lovely places for dumplings, will stick to those ones.
They don't have chef there at all since they have all machines, it is quite like a Chinese style Mc Donal.
Can only give 3 star dumpling nice and soup nice but ordered Chinese broccoli the garlic was way too much to the point the broccoli was inedible for the price of almost 16 for just broccoli they should take more care when adding in the garlic very disappointed
Love this place that chilli oil on the dumpings is awesome for helping to fight off The end of the common cold. You guys rock.
The condiment trays and jars need a deep clean, and the staff I encountered were not hospitable. Sorry to say! I felt like we were a bother to them and we were the only ones there during lunchtime. Asked politely for condiments, utensils and serviettes when we were served our meal and was told to go back inside for them. I am fine with self service of course, but there was no one around and it wasn't takeaway. A bit of service goes a long way.
I always eat dumpligs from here. My favourite is chicken and prawn dumplings. Mever get sick of it.
