I Dream Of Sushi reviews
34Ordered Salmon and Kingfish nigiri, smelt like old fishing bait left in the sun Treat for my cats I guess
Amazing taste, especially for what looks like just a fast food joint. Sushi rice is also exceptionally good!
This is such a hidden gem for sushi and sashimi lover! I cant believe myself still that the quality of ingredients is at the top tear and the way sushi was made is very authentic and omakase way: entire piece of salmon supposed to cover all the rice. I will definitely become a regular after my first order today. Hat off to the chef!
I ordered the Teri Mayo Don which cost $18.00 for takeaway. It was the end of the night and they were closing yet still took my order. It was ready in a few minutes which meant they must have reheated the chicken, probably in the microwave. The chicken was diced and drowned in some type of mayonnaise. When I got home (around the corner) and opened it I nearly vomited. I wouldn't give it to my dog. If they're going to take a late order then it should still be decent. They also tried to sell me packaged sushimi out of their fridge, which I'm assuming they'll sell the following day? So not sure about the freshness of their food.
Got the chicken teriyaki bento. Big mistake. Would have gotten the sushi/sashimi if it was warmer today.
Why does almost every Japanese restaurant in Melbourne (other than rice workshop and don don) think teriyaki chicken is diced chicken drowned in teriyaki sauce?
Not to mention the sauce was way too salty and lacks the traditional flavors (mirin & sake)
The kakiage (deepfried mixed vege) on the side was also overcooked. You can see the blackened onions in the photo.
The rice was also not fluffy and slightly lumpy.
And despite employing some eco-friendly practices, the bento came in a disposable cardboard box instead of the traditional reusable bento box
Might try the sushi next time but expectations are low now.
Amazing authentic Japanese food here. One of my favourites in the area. The hand rolls and bento boxes are my go-to’s
Probably the best sushi I have had in Melbourne. Extremely authentic and fresh. Staff are also very nice.
Sushi is awesome Also their other dishes are great too.my top pick for Japanese in Melbourne's north!
I Dream of Sushi, my favourite shop to buy lunch on Saturday, usually 2 California (Sushi) Rolls which are wrapped in toasted Nori, how it should be. The actual Sushi is very fresh and tasty. Goyza with Gohan (white cooked rice) is also a delight. All in all an excellent eat in or take away shop, staffed by very cheerful and happy staff who definitely have my full endorsement
Real & authentic Japanese. Salmon is soooo fresh, and they don't skimp on the portion of fish (unlike the sushi chains in shopping centres that are all rice and minimal fish). Karage is very good too.
Great sushi and very friendly staff. Will make you a roll fresh if they don’t have what you want, which is very kind.
One of the best sushi places around Melbourne. So authentic and tasty. Packed with filling. And Japanese making Japanese sushi. Do I need to say anymore. So much better than sushi sushi or other surrounding sushi shops. Oishiiii yum.
Found this place on a whim. This has become our go to sushi place. Everything we've tried has been delicious. It's so great to have different veggie options. Although the kara-age is yummy too!
Wow, this place is sensational. So many vegan options! Everything fresh, cooked to order, beautifully presented. They dont compromise on the quality and customer service. ️
My favourite sushi ever! I have been going here for years and the quality is always the best) fresh, delicious and lovely service
Best sushi place in Melbourne. Quality and flavour is next level, you can taste the difference compared to those other commercial sushi places
I love their sushi! The rice and vinegar used at a good balance. One of the best I have had in Melbourne!
My absolute favourite sushi place near Moines Ponds - Essendon. I visit a couple of times a week. It's a little bit more pricey than other shops but the consistency is sooo good. The mushroom roll is by far my favourite. They also have a menu with curry dons, other order able meals and will make sushi upon request!
Sush a great restaurant. The staff is very friendy, the Sushi is fresh and the portions are generous. This is definitly my new go-to japanese restaurant. 5 stars dont do justice to these girls!
I usually work in the CBD, but today I stayed home to work and I’m so glad I did! Because I went here for lunch and was amazed at how delicious their lunch sushi rolls are!
