Hunter reviews
48 We went to Hunter for lunch on Sunday and couldn't have been happier.
Between us all we had the Jackfruit burger, Beans and "pastie". The food was delicious, coffee was spot on, prices reasonable, service was warm and friendly. Can't really ask for much more!
There aren't too many quality vegan options in the area, but great to see Hunter well and truly filling the void.
Best cafe back beach side with good coffee & amazing raw/vegan sweets (& I am not a vegan). Lots of space & child friendly too.
Been to a lot of Vegan cafes in both NSW and QLD and Hunter is one of the best yet in terms of quality, portion size and price. Highly recommend.
Recently discovered this place on Happy Cow. My partner and I are both vegan and always struggle finding good options when we're holidaying in Rye/Sorrento. We were so impressed with Hunter. The quality and selection of food is excellent. Can't wait to go back. Recommend the Nachos if you're looking for a good feed. We also loved that they are ditching Cows milk and explaining why to customers.
The best all plant based cafe around. Their nachos are wonderful but the pulled jackfruit burger is out of this world. Incredible raw vegan desserts too. If you live anywhere close to St Andrews Beach you need to get down to Hunter!
Very good coffee. Not amazing. But good. Feels like a safe bet early in the morning when all you want is a good coffee.
Super friendly staff. Really cool and cosy little cafe with more room than you think out the back!
Some GF options. But as usual, check and ask. Staff are very accommodating.
Good parking, limited but good.
I recommend giving this place a go.
A slice of South Yarra on the outskirts of Rye. Maybe the best option for coffee if you are heading to the ocean side beaches.
With so few choices for coffee on the ocean beach side of Rye/St Andrews Beach, Hunter is the latest re-incarnation of 2 previous cafes to service locals and visitors to the area. Certainly a welcome addition to the neighbourhood and we hope the owners will be rewarded for their effort. Unlike the previous cafe' Hunter does not offer hot food instead, there is a variety of ready to eat on display in the cabinet. On the day of our latest visit (14th Jan), we were disappointed with our takeaway lattes so much so that I popped mine into the bin outside Conroy's after one sip. It tasted like hot milk with a dash of coffee. We may visit Hunter again to see or taste if our experience was just an abberation.
