Hunter reviews
48I'm a local in Rye, and this place is bad, terrible service, coffee has no flavor to it, making at home coffee is 50x better, and the workers are not friendly at all, i rather go to other coffee shops in Rye then this one here
Love that this place exists! Great coffee and friendly service and the savoury croissants are amazing
We found this place with all so amazing review's and drove out of the way to have our meal there only to be informed that they are just doing take way only. Fair
It was getting busier, which is good to see. The menu is pretty decent with choices to make.
With high hopes, we ordered following ;
* Peanut Butter Latte ($5) : Highlight of our meal, very tasty, pic uploaded separately ; in eco friendly glasses which is good. The subtle taste of peanut butter just makes it a tad bit malty to give coffee that enhanced taste, beautiful.
* Satay Tofu Bowl? ($16) : Pretty decent serving of the bowl, scoring high on presentation and eco friendly take away bowl, good chunks of tofu fried and had a good whizz of satay sauce and loads of veggies with different textures, well done. We were provided with serviette, and, however we wanted to return knife and asked for fork, which they don't keep. Lil tricky to enjoy meal without it.
* Shawarma ($21) : While ordering shawarma, we were asked by the order taker that if we want Feta/Olives and other one option (can't remember now) in our shawarma, which we thought is a part of it. We chose Feta and the lady said okay.
After ordering, we made the payment by card (There is a small sticker next to the EFT-POS machine which has listed card surcharge) and waited outside patiently for our order and making way for others to order, only to notice that we got ripped off an extra $4 for choosing Feta. I was a bit confused that the lady who took our order did not mention that chosing option would incur separate charge, how rude is that you simply trick customer with this uncanny way of service, not cool. It was a spoil sport moment for us but we didn't let that effect us as we did enjoyed our shawarma, which had mock meat in it.
But unfortunately that's not even mentioned in the menu and we just couldn't imagine that what if we had ordered all 3 options, we would be getting on one of the most expensive Shawarma in Victoria.
We love to support our local eateries who must have coped it hard ever since the pandemic started but we do value our hard earned money and would appreciate that the order taker has courtesy to atleast inform people of extras before charging and start wearing mask (goes for all the staff) and follow DHHS rule to ask customer to wear masks and do check-ins would be good for community to stay safe.
Great menu and the food was delicious. The staff are extremely friendly and it's a very cool cafe. Highly recommended.
What a fantastic place. Hidden gem and a must go to place on the Peninsula. All our meals were amazing. Service excellent, good value quality food!
Love this place. I can go for breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee breaks. Everything is vegan and great taste. Great atmosphere too.
Really friendly staff and a nice atmosphere, very aesthetic
The food was A-MAZ-ING
The nachos were really tasty and the smoothie was great too
Incredible service and the food is sensational
I had the Middle Eastern Shawarma and it was absolutely delicious
Amazing! Every single thing we have ordered here has been incredible! Staff are also so lovely! Worth the 40 minute drive from home to visit!
One of the best breakfasts I've had in a while! An amazing vegan menu, with lots and lots of options.
I had the seasonal greens and pesto-stuffed mushrooms, and tried the tofu scramble - both dishes were phenomenal and full of flavour. There were plenty of other things on the menu I wanted to try, so I'll have to come back!
They'll make juices to order here with fresh fruit and vegetables. I grabbed myself a apple, carrot and ginger juice, and it was delicious.
Hunter will definitely become a regular visit everytime I come down to the Mornington Peninsula - really glad I drove the distance, as it was one of my highlights.
Delicious vegan food, super friendly staff and the restaurant is design is great. Check out the back dining area with the swinging chairs.
Beautiful clean food, would recommend to anyone wanting vegan options, kitchen well organized and very clean
Huge range of incredible, purely plant based food at this vegan eatery. We absolutely loved everything our family of four ordered; the fruit toast, acai bowls, NACHOS (!) and Mediterranean flavoured toasted wrap. Chill beach vibe with sweet, efficient service. Seating out front with our dog was great, at the communal bar table. More air-conditioned seating inside and a super chill room out the back. Can't wait to come back one day.
Dropped in for lunch, just visiting the region. Amazing plant based cafe. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to eat cleaner, or just a great coffee.
Hunter has such an awesome array of food to choose from, all freshly made with the highest quality ingredients. Easily one of the best places by far to go for breakfast or lunch.
Best vegan cafe I've been to in a long time. Great food, affordable, large portions, friendly staff, great coffee, chill vibes, great music, beautiful space. Highly recommend!
Popped in here for a coffee today after a 20km hike. Had low expectations of the coffee but danggg it was so good. The "blend" milk of coconut and soy was delish, so delish that four hours later I'm still thinking about it enough to write a review.
Friendly staff, nice design and restaurant overall. I had the "Pesto-infused tofu scramble" and was blown away; really fresh and full of flavor, a perfect start to the morning with a nice coffee! Would highly recommend.
Nice spot, healthy theme, cute layout. I ordered a coffee and it didn’t taste right, so I asked politely if they could re-make it. They wanted to charge me for another coffee, which is pretty steep considering I’d only taken a sip. So I just left it
Absolutely amazing, the food was delicious! I ordered the jack fruit burger and it was eaten in seconds, my omni boyfriend loved his Mexican burrito as well! We both enjoyed the raw chocolate treat. The place was beautiful and I will be stopping by here every time I'm in the area.
