A great place to experience South Indian vegetarian food at affordable prices, adjoining the Hindu/Buddhist temple. Come in with an attitude of respect and patience) as this cafe is staffed by volunteers. If my Saturday visit was any indication, this place can get very busy ;-) but the patrons are helpful if you are unfamiliar with this cuisine.
This was my first time to try dosa and I really enjoyed it, although the filling was a little spicy for me. For those not in the know, dosa is a kind of high-protein, gluten free pancake made mostly of lentils and rice. It’s actually about 40cm across! (See photo).

Authentic south Indian food available here. Best dosa in Melbourne. Good value for money and great service
