HSV Cafe Annapoorani reviews
22 Idly was cold and hard, curd vada was not soaked, regular vada was cold. They shud improve with so many coming with high expectations.
Dosa was good only.
If you're a fan of vegetarian South Indian cuisine, you've got to check out this restaurant! With its spacious dining area, abundant parking, and wide variety of authentic dishes, it's the perfect place to enjoy a delicious and convenient meal.
The menu features all of your favorite South Indian classics, from fluffy idlis and dosas to savory sambar and rasam.
Good food, there will can be long queues on the weekends so plan accordingly.its a self service eatery
Great Service!
Excellent quality!
Value for money!
Awesome customer service!
Will definitely be back again & again
I bought ghee roast, kesari and ladu. It was worth the price. Food is quickly made, they will call your token number once it's done, and there is not much waiting time. Once you finish your food, you have to take your plates and leave it on the table on the left side of the hall. The restaurant is located adjacent to the temple.
This lovely cafe within the precinct of the HSV Temple Carum Downs is run by volunteers, has one of the most reasonably priced menus and has star snacks like Ulunthu Vadai, Veg Rolls and Veg Samosa. The dosas are huge. The food here is a bit bland, but it is more like Prasadam than restaurant food. It is rightly very popular with the locals.
Am from Adelaide and visited Melbourne in the month of Jan, the shiva Vishnu temple is must visit place for everyone who visit Melbourne and this restaurant is inside the temple where you will get best South Indian food with very reasonable price.
Good satvik food and atmosphere. Food is inexpensive and tasty. Mostly South Indian cuisine. Crowded on some weekends and special days. I usually avoid queuing up if there is a long queue. Volunteering staff are respectful and helpful.
Very long time to eat food. You pay 13.5 get thali and u get very small serve of sambar and poriyal. But large quantity of rice.used to be nice and generous, but now feels like they do not care.
Been visiting here for the last 10 years. Restaurant is located inside Shiva Vishnu Hindu temple premises. Serves only veg food. Quantity and pricing are unmatchable. Gets busy during weekends. Run by volunteers. Abundant parking available.
Vegetarian food that is both inexpensive and delicious. This is the best vegetarian restaurant in Melbourne.
Food quality is good.
Generally Good service. However, during the festivals, service slows down so do expect some wait time (invariably).
Do not visit during weekend and public holidays wait time 1 hr plus and sometimes they run out of food what u order
Very bad service. Waited 2 hours 45 minutes and to place and eat food. Order for cheese dosa was misplaced with Ghee dosa. If you have patience and a lot of time you must visit this restaurant.
Dear sir, I love the food and price at the Temple Cafe. I eat there and takeaway every Saturday, two concerns I have.
1) For many months I have told the staff and Chef, the potato filling in the Masala Dosa is Very Very Dry. It used to be a wet mix, with chunkier pieces of potato, almost like Alloo with the Poori. Why change to an almost powdered mix, let’s get back to mix like other cafes.
2) The ordering procedure is very slow and cumbersome. Same person, taking the orders then gives out the order when ready. By the time I pick my Dosa up it is cold, why not have one person taking the orders and another calling the number once it is ready.
3) People place order and hang around the front, very congested. Make sure they order be seated,
Amazing food, super affordable and a divine vibe & that's why it's always crowded. It's run by volunteers and a charity organisation, so you have to have patience if you want the delicious food at this price. It's self service and they already mention that the food will take at least 20-30mins on a busy day. And there's a queue on weekends. But the wait is totally worth it
Loved it.
The food is fresh, hot and great, as usual.
Always great and great, doesn't matter how many times you dine in or take away.
Great South Indian food which is reasonable priced. As the place is maintained by volunteers, service is not out of the ordinary, but the food tastes yummy and the price is the lot better than other competitor South Indian places.
We had family and friends dinner outings, all items like masala dosa, plain dosa, idli, medu vada we're all good in size, unfortunately Samber was cold, in onion dosa filled with all just chopped onion.
Need to make a planned trip here. Advised to get there by 5.30pm before the poojas finish. If not you have a long wait. Food is excellent and cheap compared to most restaurants. Not a fancy place but the food is yummy
