HOYTS reviews
66 Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at a cinema.
The toilets were disgusting, smelly with urine all over the floors and no toilet paper in the cubicles.
The cinema itself was dirty and outdated. The sound quality was terrible and you could hear the outside noise within the cinema. Not an enjoyable experience at all. Definitely won’t be going back
This place is the worst. $9 for a large soda. At least half the time they forget to turn the lights out in the theatre and someone has to miss the beginning of the movie to run out to tell them. Pathetic. 1 star.
No allocation for seating so for a big group we had to go in 20 minutes before the ads for the movie started.
It's not clean at all and seats are not comfortable. I think they should renovate it like broadmeadows on.
The guys at that's hot are amazing. Friendly service and so eager to help! Everytime me and my friend visit every Friday the boys/girls there always put in 100% to make us feel welcome. And more like were all friends rather than customers. And we do our very best to show the same courtesy as well!
Really great place to watch movie that are in your "Watch List"
The setting is classy. Food is great and so is the service.
They just need to incorporate merchandise within Lux.
Saw Bumblebee. Small screen uncomfortable seats. Instead of having smaller theatre for better viewing the theatre was huge. Prices at $20 per person is not worth going.
Love going here! I often make it the main part of a days outing at Highpoint West. They have quite a few cinemas going, so normally find something worth watching.
Needs to be renovated like the rest of the Hoyts in Victoria, seats are horrible and uncomfortable with the AC on all the time so it's freezing.
Tired seating and musty smelling cinema. With most cinemas either cutting prices or providing recliners in standard cinemas this cinema would have been considered modern maybe 15 years ago. But in the times of $20+ movie in tickets and then extra booking fees for buying online certainly there are better options. The expectation would be that they could at least keep the cinema and the bathroom clean, but alas it was not the case.
Only cinemas that have not been updated. The seating is terrible, old and falling apart. Why are Highpoint Hoyts the only ones not refurbished?
Need to crowd control audience during cinema. I have not had one peace and quiet because of disrecpectful teenagers making a ruckus and being rude to other audiences
Live down the road to highpoint but rather drive to northland or watergardens as theres no recliner seats here, only lux has them but tickets are double the price of normal ones, its 2018 all hoyts should have recliner seats by now
For such a big and fancy place, I was disappointed to find out they didn't have recliner chairs like in the smaller one at Broadmeadows.
Hate dealing with this cinema! Never answers the phone and try and do a contact us and complaints on web or app and does not let you! Poorest service ever. I have never had a call picked up for enquiry in Lux cinema ohhhhh but they are happy to charge like a wounded bull!
Think our family will change our movie experience to Gold Class “they answer their phone “
You'd think that with $18 movie tickets that least they could do it clean it properly and freshen it up once in a while. Bigger seats on a plane, carpet was filthy and generally the place is tired and well worn. If I was paying I'd go you sun theatre in Yarraville and support a local theatre doing it properly.
Quite nostalgic. Reminded me of what cinemas were like in the 70's. Poor quality sound, sticky carpet, uncomfortable seats, funny odours, barely edible popcorn. Fortunately, the movie was good enough to distract me from all that and there is a Ben and Jerry's right out the front!
But still, not going back.
Went here, was an ok day although i must say seemed like the cinema wasn't cleaned properly from the previous movie, good service though.
The service was great but the cinema is very outdated. Small seats and movie screen. Seats not allocated either.
Hoyts is kinda of overpriced, considering most other cinema chains and independent cinemas are lowering their ticket prices (especially in other states such as South Australia, where the average standard ticket is around $10). The cinemas themselves are quite underwhelming and narrow, and the screens are very small. Decent cinema, but overall very underwhelming. Customer service is pretty great, however.
