66Lux. Honestly food was awesome. Service was ok but definitely not as good as Village Gold class.
How hard is to get a coffee in this place. Stood around the bar like a zombie waiting for staff, then when one turned up she said she couldn't serve me. Certainly missing the human touch. I’m surprised they even have ushers to check tickets. To make matters worse, half way through, the movie stopped for some inexplicable reason. It took a good 15-20 mins to get things going again. Hoyt’s really needs to get their act together.
I had a popcorn there but it was too much salty really got disappointed by it hope you will do something on it popcorn can meet the energy of movies so make sure to serve better
One of the best Hoyts in Melbourne! Very well maintained, less crowded. They're located near some of the best food restaurants!
A cinema that has nice theatres but is easily disregarded as a viable theatre to go to simply because:
- Theatres are way too hot to the point where enjoying the movie is hard to do because you’re apparently watching this movie a few kilometres away from the sun.
- The amount of people that go to these theatres just to be noisy and be on their phones defeats the whole purpose of attending the theatre ruining the whole experience for everyone watching
- Employees that don’t even bother to try to stop the patrons being loud.
Although it is a nice theatre with a nice snack/bar selection and nice viewing experiences (dbox, gold lux, etc), it is ruined by the above points.
Love Lux. Relaxing cinema with reclining seats. Great service. Good food. Conveniently located. Leave the house and go enjoy a flick!
It was the worst experience I have had at a cinema.
The floors were filthy, the toilets were blocked and overflowing.
Rubbish bins need to be emptied.
Will not be going back when there are plenty of other theatres to go to near by.
I've been to Hoyts Highpoint cinema for a very long time now & it's the first time where I found the seats extremely uncomfortable. They really need to update their seats. The one we sat in was very old looking & scruffed up as well. My bottom is still sore from sitting in those seats on the weekend!
Our first time experiencing Lux was so incredible, I strongly recommend.
Hubby and I finally had a night to ourselves, and decided to make the most of it by coming to Hoyts Lux in Highpoint.
We went up to the normal register, and presented our tickets, and we were both blown when she said there was another private section for Lux.
We walk up, and OMG! I have never felt so special. We get seated in such a nice peaceful and quiet area, get given 2 menus to browse, and get left alone for a few minutes. Given I don't drink very much, because I like to set an example for my kids, I was even more excited to realise you can order alcohol, food, ice cream.basically everything.
The young girl comes and takes our order, then says that as there was a slight queue, we could stay seated, and she would come back and get us, so we wouldn't be standing too long. Again, a mumma that doesn't wear high heels often. I felt like an absolute queen.
We were taken by a lovely man to our seats, which included our complementary popcorn, wireless phone charging, use ports, a call button for an attendants at ANY time during the movie, and the comfiest cinema chairs I have ever sat in.
When our pizza came out, it was honestly the best pizza I have ever had in my life. So nice and crispy (without breaking your teeth), and so tasty.
With tickets being around $70 with Hoyts rewards, and our food + drinks costing around $40, I would definitely say the experience was well worth it! Complementary popcorn and a choice of soft drink or water, and the intimacy of it all, well worth paying the bit extra.
Thank you so much to the staff at Hoyts Lux for making these exhausted parents refresh, and fell like royalty!
Loved the comfortable seats watching a very long movie. Loved the movie & the 4 choc tops I purchased
Hoyts Lux has a great concept to create a luxurious movie experience. Great coordination of staff. I would only suggest a few easily made tweaks. Leave the hosin sauce out of the duck pancakes, an allow for the customer to have it as a side option. Mine were 97% sauce to 3% duck ratio. Other thing that reduced my rating, was despite arriving 30 mins ahead of the session, we weren't taken into the theatre until after the session time commenced, causing darkness and confusion of where we were being seated. I felt uncomfortable having to use my phones torch to search for my seat, including later unaware my seat was heated. Thankfully I had my icey cocktail on hand to cool things down haha
Excellent cinema, the xtra big screen was very spacious for your food and drinks. Very clean too. It helps if your a member to get the food deals.
Great cinema experience with the family. The new renovations add a touch of class and feel much more roomy. The overall price was higher than I would like to spend but we will definitely be returning.
Went with my aged father last night. First movie night in years. Literally. Staff couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. Really made our evening. Kudos, people!
Watched a movie last night in their 'LUX' theatre. Paid $45 for a ticket which is okay, but to pay $30 for a pizza, which comes out cold in the centre is a little frustrating. We stopped the waitress to let her know, she offered to either re heat or make us up a new one. She then bought out a new pizza about 25 minutes later which yet again came out frozen / cold in the centre. At this time its nearly 3/4 way through the movie, I took it back and was offered a refund but no compensation. The lady at the counter was really good about it and was very apologetic. She had let us know this had been an issue that's happened on multiple occasions and had raised it with the manager. But I think when you are paying this much to watch a film and paying $30 for a pizza, you wouldn't expect it to be frozen, and then to have to return it twice and end up not having a meal at all, I do think some form of compensation would of been valid. Won't be using their Lux experience again.
Wow, just went into the 'D-Box' cinema and omg got my own recliner! Been so long since I've been to a cinema and LOVED the experience, comfort and visibility for my children even with adults in front of them. Definitely coming back
It's a nice cinema, but the prices are pretty expensive. Especially considering the wide variety of independent Cinemas close by.
New cinemas are fantastic. Loved the new reclining seats. If only we were given tranquilizer darts to stop people from talking during the film.
Which ever manager was working at 11: 30PM on the 27th of February, was extremely rude and arrogant while I was just asking if I could purchase some popcorn. He responded “no” in a very I’ll mannered tone, then aggressively slammed the popcorn cabinet. I was extremely disappointed of how my partner and I were treated and will not be returning.
What a way to relax, watch a great movie, & even put your feet up in their fantastic spacious upgraded recliner type of seating!
Way to go Hoyt, really worth a stop over!
