Hands down the best training I have ever undertaken. I have learned so much about myself, not just as an actor, but as a person. I cannot reccomend it enough. Plus, as well as the Full and Part Time courses, they offer short courses all throughout the year, so there's something for everyone!

Howard Fine is, without a doubt, one of the leading teachers of acting in Los Angeles and around the world. The studio in Melbourne, just like the studio in Los Angeles, has a friendly, supportive atmosphere that is an attitude shared by all the instructors as well as students, and this is very rare for any acting studio. I am also absolutely in love with Howard's method, derived from Uta Hagen's teachings, and his approach to acting and life. If you have ever have the chance to take a class here for any reason, I highly recommend it. For serious students of the craft only.

Howard Fine is not just an acting school it is a community where you can thrive in your craft. The training builds you to be a self sufficient actor that is so important to build a sustainable, professional career. I considered myself a HF ‘stalker’ for a while because I audited the masterclasses but did not participate. Now that I’m in the part time course, I’m still a stalker… but at least I’m participating now:)

I studied here as part of the six month part-time ensemble. I'm not sure I'm properly able to convey how an incredible, and life changing the experience was. The teachers are fantastic, the technique is simple yet effective, and the groundwork laid at the beginning of the course to build trust and commitment within the ensemble made the entire experience an utter joy. I joined the course having not acted for 6 years, incredibly nervous to get back involved, I left with an enthusiasm for risk taking, performing and a lifelong commitment to make this my career. I honestly can't recommend it enough.

I have been training with the HFAS studio since 2011. I have trained at many other institutions. This one is by far the best I have attended with the most accessible approach to attaining confidence and independence and developing and maintaining a high skill level. Studying at Howard Fine this year has completely changed my perception of what it is to be an actor and what it takes.

Learning to find the characters traits within myself, which means digging deep into my truth and rediscovering the pieces that make up Who I Am.

Having trained at nearly every acting school in Melbourne, the Howard Fine Acting Studio is where I finally felt at home, safe, supported, and nurtured. The technique is simple (but not easy, there's a difference!) and will give you a solid foundation of craft to supplement your talent. Howard fine acting studio is a lifetime experience! This is a must for any actor or human being who is serious about really finding out who they are and how much potential and talent you actually have! The teachers are exeptional, and only want to help bring out the best in you and help you along the journey. I have just completed the part time course and it was an amazing journey and i appriciate every precious moment that i spent there. Having recently participated in Howard Fine and David Coury's Masterclass with Barbara Robertson in Melbourne, I am so incredibly grateful for the lesson's and what I learnt in such a short amount of time. For me Studying with Howard Fine is the hardest way to study, because there are no shortcuts. His teachings don't allow yourself as an actor to cheat or fake anything. To do his 7 steps, is the only way I work now, as it's a clear and thorough process to get to the crux of the character and material. It's hard, but the most honest way to work on your craft, cos if it was easy, everyone would do it.
