When I started to look for full-time actor training in Melbourne, there were many institution names thrown around. But when I started looking specifically for actor training that was kind, compassionate and effective.when I wanted actor training that didn't desire to break students, but embrace them and help them grow, suddenly there was only one name that I was hearing: "oh, you want The Howard Fine Studio Australia".
The full-time course lived up to the reputation. It was not "easy". The expectations of the students are significant. But it is a course and Studio filled with a love of actors and acting. The faculty sets the bar high, but they will actively work to help you meet it. If you are passionate about your craft, the HFAS team will help you hone it. If you want a training institution where you will find a sense of community, then the HFAS alumni community will welcome you with open arms. If you want to work as an actor, then this course will help you do that.
Professionally, and personally, I cannot speak more highly of the quality of the training, and the ongoing support, I have received. I will be forever grateful.
And as I prep for three seasons of a solo theatre show tour, after a sell-out La Mama season last year, I keep thinking that I wouldn't be here, if not for this course and what it gave me.

Where do I even begin! To have stumbled across this place has been such a gift and a blessing. I couldn't recommend the Full Time Program enough, it is a perfect blend of all the disciplines an actor should be taught and covers a multitude of areas. The faculty is amazing and so supportive, and they provide you with so many tools which enhances your craft insanely! Not only has my acting improved from Howard Fine Acting School but I've also grown so much as a person and made lifelong friends.

If you're on the fence about whether to apply, I encourage you to look no further and to take the leap as I believe it is the best kind of training an actor can receive.

Honestly couldn't recommend this course enough. I loved it!
You get to meet and work with so many amazing people, learn so much about the arts industry and who you are as a person as well.

I wouldn't even recognise myself from where I was when I began the course. I now feel comfortable knowing what to expect and work on for auditions, and what's expected of me within the industry and on set.

A couple of honourable mentions include, but are in no way limited to, Sass Pinci, Phil Hayden, Jess Martin and Sarah Hallam. All of these tutors inlcuding ones not mentioned (we'd be here all day if so haha) are some of the most hard working professionals I know. They created such an inclusive and safe environment and are just all round fantastic human beings.

I love every class I've taken here and relate to it the most out of any acting class I've ever done. It's a safe and really fun environment to be in and made me love rehearsing, performing and learning again

I have been trying to call for two weeks straight and nobody picks up the phone, I'm not sure if the blocked my number or dont pick up the phone but after I speak with someone to answer my questions about the school I will remove the one star rating.

If you're considering acting training I can't recommend this studio enough! I was lucky enough to work Phil, Sass, and Howard, they all run fantastic classes, they give great feedback and really wonderfully specific advice - most of all their class environments were all really welcoming which made it easy (as easy as possible) to try my hand at the really challenging work of an actor. I did their six week online essentials course and I learnt oodles - thanks guys!

I have recently completed the 6 week, online acting course.
This, for me was a game changer!
Howard Fine is a Master, and the whole team succeed in making the process easy to understand.
There are no "easy tools, or quick fixes" but the way everything is explained is straight forward.
The positive and extremely constructive feedback, each class, only helps to embed the lessons.
I am now working with HAFS on the Audition Technique, and loving it.
