Frank squeezed us in for a big family dinner last minute on a busy night but the service was exceptional! Great service and beautifully presented, delicious meals. Best Scallopini I’ve ever had! We will definitely be back!

Great cosy place with perfectly cooked food and friendly staff. Had the scallops, best I've ever had. Veal was great as well. Only slight negative cheesecake could have been a little bigger.

Awesome little place with great food. Unfortunately it’s a bit in the middle of nothing, currently surrounded by just building works and a loud train line which does take away from the otherwise nice atmosphere. Service was not great on our visit, with food being brought out without cutlery. Then we watched as our cutlery was taken to another table. By the time we could get someone’s attention our food was starting to cool. Having said that, the food was the highlight and the main reason we went and it didn’t disappoint. Good selection of Italian beers and wine too.

Cousins brunch down by Diggers Rest. A cosy, rustic atmosphere at this venue that offers authentic timeless Italian dishes using local produce. Subpar on service (couldn't get any of our coffee orders right, lucky we drink whatever coffee with no dairy concerns) but the dishes made up for it with their flavours. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Food was absolutely incredible! Nothing beats traditional Italian cooking and Houdinis do it so so well! Beautiful staff and great food, what more could you ask for.

Our first dining experience here and we had a great night out. Food was delicious, service was exceptional and a nice ambience. Would certainly dine here again.

Went for a birthday dinner with a large group including children and a pram. There was plenty of space for the pram and kids, was extremely kids friendly with their menu in the back of a where’s Wally book - how sweet (and clever). The food was delicious everyone was super happy with their meals. The staff were lovely with what appeared to be the owner checking in multiple times. Was a great experience, we would go back for sure.

An authentic Italian restaurant in the heart of Diggers Rest. Lovely, attentive staff with a rich knowledge of Italian cuisine and heritage. The food is incredible and reasonably priced. Depending on the night, the atmosphere can be quite lively or quiet.

Had dinner there last night. Truly amazing food a the service was fantastic. It will become our regular.

We had a 50th at Houdinis Cafe e Cucina in diggers rest and when I called up a week before to see what I could have I was told they don't really cater to vegans, so I planned on eating before hand.

My family who planned this dinner spoke with the owner and they worked out a set menu for the 4 vegans as well as the rest of the party of 30.

All was well untill the manager gave out the main menu and there was no options so he said we could only have the gnocchi with a simple red sauce or pesto with no cream, then we asked if the pesto had cheese in it he said yes. We politely explained that vegan meant no animal products such as egg or cheese but he seemed annoyed and didn't really seem to care.

I chose to just eat at home because I didn't really trust the food was vegan friendly after that. After 2 of the vegans started to eat the gnocchi they noticed it had cheese inside not just potato. The waiter apologised but the rest of the staff didn't really care. We were offered a dessert but all declined because we all were super doubtful that it was free from animal products at that point.

The wait staff were lovley but the older male manager just didn't seem too happy to have to cater for us which in 2022 and after a pandemic seems a little silly.

I just wanted to share to give a heads up to anyone who may be thinking of going here as I would hate for anyone else who is vegan or has intolerances to be served cheese when they don't or can't eat it.

Thank god for uber eats and restraunts that cater for dietary requirements in 2022.

By far the best genuine Sicilian food I've ever had outside Italy. Consistent and utterly delicious.

Seated in the enclosed outdoor area, with heaters! Very warm
Frank gave us a selection of entrees to start with, the mushrooms were fantastic!
We all selected our own mains with a great range of selections and specials to choose from.
I had the swordfish which was great. Everyone enjoyed there meal, which was accompanied with a few beers and some lovely Shiraz.
And to finish off Frank gave us all a complimentary home made lemonchello/strawberrychello.

Had barramundi with veggies and baked potatoes. Everything cooked perfectly. Will be back. Have some nice Italian based dishes.

We only found out about this little gem of a restaurant a couple of days ago. Had an amazing lunch there today and it didn’t disappoint. Great atmosphere, service and absolutely delicious Sicilian cooking. Our host and staff were so welcoming and friendly. Such a lovely afternoon spent here. Can’t wait to go back with friends and family. Keep up the great work. You have stolen our hearts and tummy’s. Thankyou
