Hong Kong Supermarket reviews
33 This js not a frills shop, it is a good down to earth place that displays their goods clear and well.
Clean and friendly
Such a great market with everything you could possibly need, highly recommended on a visit if you are in the area
Variety of items with good quality. But service was really unfriendly and unhelpful. Asked for where the fortune cookie is after looking for the whole store, but one employee didnt even glance at me and told me in annoyance of the aisle to look for it. The other employee doesn’t know where it is. Ended up not finding it. Would really love some guidance next time:)
Want a cleaner Asian grocery than springvale and cheaper than M city this is the place it has everything and abit more than most grocers. Also a butcher just outside the shop.
Went in with a few items I had been trying to find for years. They had what I was looking for and the staff were super helpful.
Large supermarket with various Asian variety.
Sometimes the store can feel small because it's popular, but also because the aisles are a bit narrow.
Sometimes the staff can be dismissive and appear unfriendly, even at the cash register you can feel a little bit of resentment sometimes, making you feel like a bothersome.
I once had someone bark at me to stop leaning on the alcohol cabinet while looking to buy something, very rude. Not a way to treat customers, especially if I was looking to buy something. Absolutely disgusting. Learn how to be nice for customer service, or don't work in customer service.
One of the best Asian Groccers in Melbourne, a massive selection of items and brands also so more obscure brands and items that are hard to find elsewhere the Tik Tok hype is real.
A great grocery for all your Asian foods. Great variety, and stocks some of the more rare foods that you can't find anywhere else. Such as my favourites Maggi Kari Mee noodles and Pei Pah Kao syrup. Very good prices too. Often half the price of if we got the same items at other stores.
I can shop for almost every asian products here, all under 1 roof. Ample parking space outside. Pricing is reasonable and staff are very helpful.
Very well stocked. You get your fix in almost everything. From Japanese to Korean to SE Asian.
Hardly anything you want that isn’t here.
A well worth trip to grab everything missing from home since the lockdown.
Hong Kong supermarket is my favourite Asian grocer. It has everything you need! Love love love!
This place is awesome has wide range of asian products and the convenience is awesome as it has a full on butcher in front of the store
One of if not the most complete asian groceey store in Melbourne. Always a best bet for looking any asian spices, snacks, asian rice, instant noodles, etc.
Such a great place to shop! I can always find all of the Asian foods and snacks I want trouble free
Revising my review.
Prices have gone above the other Asian groceries around and compared to springvale it's not much cheaper, some items a $1 more so it adds up if you get a dozen items.
Also I've been ripped off at least three occasions. They double or triple charge on items. Or charge multiple items. They don't check just scan and double scan.
Not nice. Been overcharged at least $10 on three occasions. Trust them to do a good job but should always double or triple check to see if they've correctly added items
Old review
*Good service most of the time. Occasionally attendant would drop items heavily in the bag. Overall, products are standard price. Some are cheaper compared to other Asian supermarkets while others a tad dearer. Many items to choose from and ranges from Thai, Viet, Chinese, Indonesian, Malaysian, Korean to Japanese. Just to mention a few. You could also purchase your poultry and meats opposite this store and collect vegetables and fruit at Coles beside this supermarket. One stop shopping area for groceries. *
The shop definitely exaggerates the price of something that’s not worth it’s taste. I had just bought the Ny Sick prawn crackers for $23 and it was barely worth $3. I’m not happy about the exaggerated prices, it’s unfair to those whom can’t afford a lot of things, it’s actually just unfair in general. But the shop, I will admit is fine, it’s just the prices I’m unhappy about.
A bit busy than normal. Great choice of Asian snacks and ingredients. Prices are very reasonable and conveniently located.
Magnificent range of stock at very reasonable price. Good set up, easy to find your items, friendly service too.
The best asian grocery in south east side. Have lots and lots of things to choose from. Loads of sweets, drinks, noodles asian spices. You can also buy rice, fresh produce and frozen sea food and meet.
This place has a HUGE variety of products which is great but keep in mind the products cycle a lot, so it's likely some things may not be restocked immediately once they run out but instead a different version may be stocked in their place. While for me this is not a bad thing because I always get to try new things and new companies, it may be a bit inconvenient for people who desire consistency in the place they shop at. Key items for cooking are usually always reliably in stock but more niche items such as, for instance, Samyang spicy noodles, can have different flavors and versions stocked each time! Overall, it's a great place with heaps of variety so I really recommend it!
