HOME Vegan Bar reviews
44Gem of a café a stone's throw from Southern Cross station. Tons of delicious options that are also healthy (as opposed to most options at the station!). Generous portions, fresh ingredients, delicious and good value for money.
We had a breakfast and it was delicious! The scramble tofu was next level good. All fresh, filling, delicious! Please open a veggie Bar in Perth! We need good vegan restaurants like this! Thank you
I recently discovered Home Vegan Bar and keep going back! Amazing vegan food, juices and smoothies etc, and friendly staff. I often place an order online for pick up and it is ready super quick. Very glad I found this place, thanks so much! <3
AMAZING food. Wish the location was more convenient or they opened later so I could eat here more regularly. A+ fresh nutritious food.
I love the food at this place and the staff are really friendly but unfortunately on two occasions I have ordered something and told 10 mins after that it was no longer available. Each time, I was on my lunch break so time was of essence and I ran out of time to order something else. This wouldn’t be such an issue for non-vegans but when you’re vegan, like me, you have limited options in this area so you have go hungry. They need to community better.
My partner and I absolutely loved everything about Home Vegan Bar. The food was absolutely mouthwatering, the atmosphere was super, loved the tunes and staff were really lovely. Definitely a good place to go if you're a gluten free vegan, loads of options.
Got a pretty simple (I thought) schnitzel panini sandwich to take away for a flight, and a cake, and both were absolutely fantastic. Would recommend. As others have noted, staff were also friendly and helpful.
ORDERED:
Cheesy Nachos: A bowl of tortilla chips with pico de gallo, black beans, avocado, creamy queso, pickled chillies & lime sour cream ($14.90)
REVIEW:
A fully vegan establishment, HOME Vegan Bar is great for anyone who has dietary requirements. They use mock meat, so if you have friends that aren't the biggest fan of veg food, they can get by.
The cheesy nachos look light but they are ridiculously heavy. It fills you up so fast, that my friend and I actually struggled to finish our individual nachos. I would suggest you heavily consider sharing between two.
The most magical part was their creamy queso (mexican cheese dip). It's savoury and has the right amount of saltiness that it's a great vegan alternative to the usual. This was incredibly well done!
The nice thing about vegan nachos is that you don't get that heaviness after lunch. We were able to continue working the rest of the day!
I can only say AMAZING!
We came in for brunch while staying in Melbs for few nights and had to get back for breakfast the next day. The BIG VEGAN BREAKIE was UNBELIEVABLE!
Amazing people, really nice, friendly.the whole experience was 100%
If you want to try a good vegan food in Melbs, get in, worth every $.
Loved this place so much I went twice! Got the scrambled tofu sandwich, chicken sandwich, white raspberry cupcake and scrambled tofu jackfruit benny
This place is a vegan heaven! The food is super tasty, lots of options and great value for money. My partner and I had the teriyaki cheeken bowl and we can highly recommend it!
Very good 100% vegan cafe, for lunch and breakfast. Large variety of options.
Nice decor and super friendly staff.
We had Teriyaki Cheeken bowl and Falafel bowl, both rich/fresh/tasty.
And the Berry Bliss and Home Sweet Home smoothies, both super smooth and perfect taste.
100% recommended.
I found the home vegan bar when I started working in the building next door and since then I am coming there almost every day. I either grab a coffee, juice or a chia pudding for breakfast or I come to have lunch. Being a vegan, I love the variety, the fresh food and the fair prices. They make a fresh curry everyday but I usually take one of the bowls with the dumpling one being my favorite.
Can highly recommend going there if you want delicious and fresh vegan food in a nice atmosphere and amazing staff.
Love the vegan options.the food tastes amazing.i had tried curry of the day and teriyaki chicken bowl.loved both of them but the teriyaki more.will definitely try new dishes next time.
Had a curry of the day for 13.90
Quite nice and warm. Taste was very good.
Maybe need a bit extra rice with it or a snack but good value for money.
Bought a coconut lemon sweet which wasn't that good
Delicious! Home caters to so many dietary requirements, whilst serving delicious and affordable food. Even my non-vegan family loved their meal!
Home Vegan Bar and I both suffered technology issues the day I stopped by for breakfast, but I did score a Big Breakfast, Cappuccino and Chai, although there's no photographic evidence. The person who served me and I just laughed off our misfortunes; we're made of the right stuff! Can't wait to revisit. (Unfortunately they're closed on weekends.)
I’ve been here twice in the past couple weeks - and I’m not local, down the peninsula. My second meal I had the avo on toast. It was great, it came with mint, dill and parsley on top. My instant thought was I bet 80% remove the herbs and don’t eat them. Probably more haha. I ate it how it was served and it was so good, that’ll be my go too for sure. The seeds tied in nicely, a couple more and extra chilli would have been nice too. Can’t wait to return:)
For an improvement, flat white needs work. It’s more like a cap without the chocolate powder.
Such an amazing big brekky. It took us a long time to order because we wanted to eat everything. The smoothies all looked great. Lots to choose from. Would highly recommend! Pretty cool venue as well.
This cafe is easy to find almost opposite Southern Cross Railway Station.
They are now open for dinner so I was lucky enough to try their new menu.
Initially my friend and i tried a glass of white vegan Victorian wine. Whoa! This was amazing. The wine tasted like crisp green apples, it was so delicate on the palate w a light texture and very very drinkable lol.
I ordered a Red Bean vegan burger on a beetroot bun w a side salad. The burger was delicious, it wasn't greasy or heavy. Instead it was full of flavour, the red bean burger was hot and it had a mild spice to it. It was perfect.
When my friends vegan ramen hit the table her eyes lit up like Christmas trees hahaha. The ramen brith that I tried had a good salty richness and it was all gobbled down in no time.
We tried tortilla chips at the waitresses recommendation and they were crispy and the vegan cheese, incredible. My friend who is carnivore said that it was the best cheese she's ever eaten! Now that saying something. It was really tasty, and almost buttery minus the oil. Yummo.
I tried a drink called Unicorn Mylk (yes) hahaha and it had.and it was sooo yummy.
For dessert we shared a caramel slice which tasted creamy and the chocolate waa some of the best vegan chocolate I've eaten. It wasn't too overwhelming like carob, instead it just filled my mouth with a light buttery chocolate flavour that was amazingly good.
To finish we shared a fruit cheesecake, and this was rich, and full of berries, with a thick creamy texture.
This was by far the best vegan establishment that I've ever been to. This place is a must visit and one place that i am certainly going back to as soon as practical!
