Had a bike accident a week ago and was hospitalised with concussion for a few days. When I started to recover, I realised somewhere in the ambulance drive or hospital stay my H10 Polar chest monitor had been permanently separated from me. As I’m a keen exerciser and about to head to Queensland for a break, I was desperate to get a new strap!
I rang HTA yesterday at 3.15pm. They had what I needed in stock and were prepared to ship it ASAP. The much needed strap arrived this morning a day earlier than our departure.
I could not be more delighted and grateful.
All I can say I wish I had read the on-line reviews first. Their after sales service sucks. After my Montana 750i experienced issues with TopoActive maps following my first update with Garmin Express I rung, big mistake just kept repeating, did you ring Garmin Aust help number over and over. I should have waited till Johnny Appleseed GPS opened, but I wanted it for a trip that weekend, now 3 weeks later I have a $1.2K GPS without Australian maps waiting for Garmin, knowing full well I will need to ship it to them for repair.
Garmin Australia confirmed the unit is faulty from new and requested I return it for exchange
Feel like I owe it to the place to give a good review after some of the stuff I’ve seen written here. Ordered a Garmin 945 on sale and it was dispatched a day later via express post and arrived extremely quickly. No complaints, smooth online experience, and had stock where Rebel didn’t. Not optimistic if something with the watch goes wrong, but it hasn’t yet. 5 stars.
Ordered a Garmin 3 days before Xmas and it was posted that day and arrived the next. Very impressed with the prompt service.

Purchased a polar heart rate monitor, never worked and Highly tuned athletes totally ignore my multiple emails and request to rectify the problem.extremely rude and un professional.
I ordered online on a Saturday night. Confirmation email was almost instant and, though they were closed, the postage was super quick. My item arrived early Tuesday. Great communication, great store.
Slight delay in delivery due to Covid-19 (understandable). Responsive to calls and emails with delivery on promised date.

Purchased a Garmin watch band
which, according to their website, was ‘in stock’; however, weeks later and plenty of unanswered phone calls/emails no item has been dispatched.
I’m now out of pocket hundred of dollars with no communication from store.
PLEASE BUY ELSEWHERE!
Really poor customer service. My order was posted but never arrived. I called and email multiple times but they were not interested in helping, everytime I was told I would be called back, but they never did. Stay well clear
I wish I read these reviews before I ordered. Placed order 1st March, was advertised as express delivery now late on the 17th and no update and 2 emails sent with no reply. Now need to go to my bank to stop card payment. I thought it may just be a delay as I understand this happens but reading emails it seems this is normal practice.and many don't get resolved.
BEWARE - ordered garmin watch 24 Feb. Nothing has arrived. Multiple emails and phone calls unanswered. When I did get through it was stated the stock was on delay from Garmin, and then 3x that it was being sent to me but just missed the post cutoff and I would be getting the tracking number emailed to me the following day. Still nothing. Have raised a dispute with credit card and Consumer Affairs VIC.
Having spent over $5,000 with HTA over 6 years in a bid to support small local businesses. The service has always been.abrupt and less than friendly but the owner is knowledgeable and ok to chat to.
The final straw, however, was when my Garmin Fenix 6X developed a fault, which Garmin issued an RMA for. When I called HTA, they refused to provide an on-the-spot exchange for the watch, insisting it needs to be sent back to Garmin.
Having then sent the watch back to Garmin for an exchange, I have called up Garmin Australia a few days later to follow up only to be told that authorised retailers are supposed to provide exchanges for faulty products as part of after-sales service.
Very disappointed with what I can only describe as a lazy attitude from the owner and extremely poor customer service. My next Garmin purchase will be from Johnny Appleseed or JB Hi-Fi.
Read the reviews before purchasing - wish I had. Two weeks since I purchased a product from these guys with Express delivery and no update. Multiple un-answered phone calls, messages left and two emails.

I’ve bought items for HTA over the years and have been very satisfied with the help I have received. Will continue to do so.
Bought and paid for an item, three weeks later no item, still no refund. There are many great online bike shops, please do not buy from this shop, they are horrible to deal with.
Price-competitive, speedy delivery. I got a faulty product, and the return process, testing, and re-supply was A-grade. Thank you.
