Belinda has a marvelous creative eye. She helped me select the most perfect patterns and colours for the refurbishment of an old mustard chair, seating cushions for two window benches, new curtains for a bedroom and seating cushions for some outdoor wooden bench chairs. All selected to keep in with early 1900's heritage home interior color scheme and the outside landscape. I'm so thrilled with the finished products. Excellent craftsmanship, communication and customer service. I highly recommend.

Dealing with the Highly Sprung team was an absolute pleasure. We had a pair of vintage rockers that my wife and I wanted to individualise. They responded to our online queries promptly. We made the decision to visit their showroom, where a multitude to fabrics were on display.

Our consultant Natalie was very knowledgeable and helped us to narrow down our choice of fabrics. We were also able to match our wood stains to our fabrics of choice. We dropped off our rockers and eagerly awaited the refresh. We were elated with the finished result.

Over the course of many weeks, I benefited from the expert and friendly service of Highly Sprung as we searched high and low for the right fabric for the reupholstery of a pair of chairs.

The quote provided for the job was much higher than expected. I quickly searched for the fabric online and saw that the prices quoted were more than double what I could obtain retail. I advised that we were ready to pay Highly Sprung’s higher labour charges in acknowledgement of the fabric selection service provided, but asked if there was any flexibility on the fabric cost - or whether I could supply the fabric. On receipt of advice that there was no flexibility nor could I supply fabric, I sought a second quote from another upholsterer - who quoted fabric costs that were more than $1,000 cheaper.

I wrote and explained that we would not be able to proceed with the job, explaining why. I was left feeling disappointed. Until, that is, I received a rude email from Highly Sprung’s owner stating that under no circumstances would they take on my job. I was shocked given that at all times I was polite and repeatedly expressed my thanks for the assistance provided.

Hence this public review: Highly Sprung has access to an excellent fabric selection - but beware - you will pay dearly for it!

As the manager of a wholesale fabric and wallpaper distribution company representing several European brands, we have supplied Highly Sprung for many years. They are one of the most professional and fairly priced design, upholstery and drapery services in Melbourne.

They have invested in a huge library of sampling which they open up to the public along with a great decorating advice. We have no hesitation in recommending Highly Sprung to people who come to us for our international brands, because I know they will get good honest service.

There is often the ability to find things cheaper online from overseas companies who don't have to pay local duties, taxes and staff, but I caution people against doing this because you have limited warranties and protections when product is faulty or things go wrong. Highly Sprung are backed up by their local suppliers who stand by their products and can help give the end customers the best possible experience.

Just received back our lounge furniture after a full recovery. We are so happy with the workmanship which I feel is better than the original on our 20 year old jardan furniture. The attention to detail and customer service is outstanding. Even better they were on time and turned it around really quickly once it was in the showroom. Can’t speak highly enough of the company and only wished I could load pictures of the final work.

After 10 years we decided to have our much-loved Nicholas Dattner lounge suite recovered & completely rejuvenated. Glenys & her HSF team is like a collective very well oiled machine - they attended to our every need & we valued highly their suggestions, advice, & hard work in bringing our project all together & looking great! We really needed guidance on colour & fabric & the cushions were a bit challenging/different for us - but now we can see they are such a wonderful, professional, finishing touch. I took an old chair to Natalie and the team earlier this year for reupholstery. It had belonged to my grandmother, and had seen better day, cracked and dirty wood, webbing that was saggier than your grandads old Y-fronts and cushions that needed to be turfed. Not only did they do a beautiful job on the cushions but went the extra mile on cleaning the wood and repairing joinery. It's good as new and makes me smile every time I look at it.

While not the cheapest option, I'd recommend Highly Sprung for those pieces you love and can't bear to part with.

After purchasing an upholstered bedhead elsewhere with a "high-end" furniture retailer, which had to be returned because of the poor workmanship I came across Highly Sprung. I was delighted to meet Natalie and the team and they could not have been more helpful with choosing the fabric for my upholstered bed. The workmanship and attention to detail in the bedhead is excellent. It was well worth the drive from Gisborne to Kew to find a company that excels in customer service and quality workmanship.

We are in raptures over our furniture! Superlatives just don’t do justice to our delight and pleasure in having restored our loved old pieces – and some new acquisitions - to their full potential.

We love what you did with the small Sofa SOOOOOO much, that we have decided to keep the two matching chairs and ask Highly Sprung to re-upholster them also; in the dolce berry. It seems a terrible shame not to keep the set together now that we see how fabulous it can look.

My opinion is that Highly Sprung’s upholstery skill is faultless; with the utmost in comfort combined with sleek good looks.

When I was researching Melbourne upholsterers, I was anxious to find a workshop which would provide professional, top quality work. Highly Sprung’s upholsterers and cover making staff are indeed skilled and experienced craftspeople!
