Recently moved from the Western Suburbs where my local CC shop was excellent in all respects. I doubted whether any local CC outlet was going to meet my high expectations, and Highett Charcoal Chicken didn't disappoint. They have never let me down since my 1st visit. Chicken - great smoky Charcoal flavour with lovely moist chicken - not overcooked and dry like a lot of outlets do. Chips, crispy and cooked well with just the right amount of seasoning.

Their 'Traditional Greek Souvlaki' is also a great go-to item I highly recommend. Pita bread- not overly cooked but soft and generous amount of mixed lamb and beef with nice salads and a very tasty tzatziki sauce to boot. The guys are also very friendly so feel free to customise your order as they're very accommodating. I feel very energised every time I visit this place and it's definitely my go-to Charcoal Chicken place in Bayside in which I highly recommend you try out.

Came here for lunch for the first time today. I had the lamb souvlaki by far the best lamb souvlaki I’ve ever had very filling and lamb marinate 10/10. Will definitely be back.

Came here for the first time had the chicken souvlaki hands down best souvlaki I've ever had. The marinate was perfect plenty of meat and was very filling. I will be definitely returning.

Worst place, been going back to this place for like 5 years and i’m sick of it. Never going back, bad people and bad food. Don’t be fooled, many better places to get your chips and chicken

Went in today because i was doing some deliveries and ended up having a chat with the owner Nik and he’s a really nice guy.the food was genuinely amazing (i had the traditional souvlaki) and very filling with a massive serving size.the chips are also really good nice and crispy but still soft on the inside.would definitely recommend going to try this place out.

It’s great HSP but they have gotten a little tight with the meet, and overloading with the chips. I asked for a bit more meat and this guy got sensitive and a bit stuck up. Will be finding a different place.

The food was nice but the customer experience was terrible… These guys have their head in the sand.we just got out of lockdown and decided to go in and order food. I witnessed the following…. There was 3 customers in a small space in the store who wore their masks under their chin. My wife waited at the door for the store to clear when the manager came to the door. My wife told him that she was waiting for an opportunity for the store to clear to safely enter the store. He replied rudely that people have exemptions and we have been through this over the last 7 weeks. It was with a “I don’t care” attitude. He not only upset my wife who was only taking a safe approach, but he made her feel like she had the problem. They chose to ignore the rules set out by out state government. I also saw numerous customers walk in without scanning. Staff did not lift an eyelid… A total disregard for public safety.
Won’t be going back…

Best HSP (Hellenic Snack Pack) around! And charcoal chicken and salads. We discovered this gem during lockdown. HSP a great snack of hungry kids (chips, shredded chicken/lamb or beef with/out cheese and any sauce to top. Easy ordering on the phone, really friendly happy staff and guaranteed filled up kids with great quality meat - real meat! They have a Hugh array of fresh salads, I can recommend the seafood.

Fantastic serviced recieved, the food is delicious and well priced. Everything in the display case looks phenomenal and is presented to suit. The person whom served us seemed to be the owner and was very inviting and even had a bit of a friendly chat. (Apologies for not getting your name).

We drive from Beaumaris especially for the best gyros/souva in Bayside. And this is why…. 1. The softest and freshest bread 2. The perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned lamb (tender, not dry and never salty) and 3.the generous serving and value for money. The staff are super friendly and accommodating with any small changes to the menu. Finally, Did I mention how huge the chip serves are? Check them out.

Restaurant confirmed my order immediately and advised delivery would take 30mins. Over an hour later, I received a message that said my order had been cancelled. No explanation. Terrible service and too slow. Don't waste your time, order from somewhere else.

I ordered a quarter chicken with gravy, peas, pumpkin and potato, at 10 past 7 in the evening. The chicken is cooked and ready to serve sitting there, the young staff were very slowly putting together the orders for the people who had obviously rang up and ordered.after 15 minutes another customer went to the counter to ask if there was a problem with his order of which they said no it will not be much longer. He was sick of waiting as well.the young staff were still working at the pace of a complete amateur, mean while the owner of the shop is cleaning up at a really good pace.not the pace we are being served with. I am sorry but you cut the chicken, put it in a container then you add the veg which are cooked and you give it to the customer. (hello rocket science moment) I went to the counter and said to the staff who looked completely dumfounded as to why i am not happy, and said keep the money your service is terrible and I will never return. I have cooked professionally for 30 years and I am the most patiant person when it comes to service. I can evaluate when there is something wrong, WHY IS IT MORE IMPORTANT TO CLEAN THE KITCHEN THAN TO SERVE THE CUSTOMERS AT 7.15 AT NIGHT, PEAK TIME FOR PEOPLE WANTING FOOD. YOU LEAVE THE AMATURES TO SERVE AND YOU WANT TO GET READY TO GO HOME. WELL YOU HAVE ROCKS IN YOUR HEAD. IT IS A BUSINESS AND I WILL NEVER RETURN.
If it was 8.30 fear enough but 7.15. I left without even asking for my money back.terrible service.

Although they gave me chips in error and I made them take them back so I couldn't eat any.the chicken schnitzel burger was bloody delicious.a proper meal and I will be back for more. No chips of course.

I bought a Lamb Souvlaki here, whilst their menu seems to be heavily Greek inspired there didn't seem to be any Greeks working here. That being said, the souvlaki was incredible. Truly an original type Souvlaki, like one you would have in Greece. It was reasonably priced too. Will be getting another souvlaki from there very soon. Highly, highly, truly recommend.

Great value for money. I ordered for our Christmas party. Chicken is delicious! Large variety of salads. I liked the coleslaw. Staff very helpful an courteous. Will definitely recommend.
