Great visiting the Guys at High Street Music today, i was helped mostly by Peter, he was very informative and helpful without being a pushy Salesman he is nice Guy
he set me up with 3 Cole Clark's to tryout and i found a realy nice one with select Timbers too make mine, Thanks to you all for your help, i'll be back again soon

What can you say about this shop except that they are brilliant? I'll tell some stories, that's what. Pete is such an experienced guitar tech that he has saved my Maton from certain death not once, but twice. The last time was when a drunken reveller had moshed up against me, and fallen on top of the guitar. It's still playable. I now own a Cole Clarke from them which is the finest instrument I've ever played. I still play the Maton.
Then there's the service. Whether I'm in there with my kids getting little musical lollipops (kazoos, shakers, etc.) or dreaming about a new guitar pedal, they are always there to help me try out instruments, explain why some strings cost so much, or just have a good chat about why we're all in masks.
Then there are the lessons. My friend's kid does piano there and loves it. He's been going for 2 years now.
Finally, this is one of those music shops that we need to keep open by going there. Imagine if all the physical shops closed and you could no longer test out your instrument? Hell on earth.
Knowing nothing about electric guitars, let alone where to go or what I wanted, I felt super nervous to go shopping. It’s an investment right, and you don’t want to make a bad choice! Well, I couldn’t be happier with my experience here. The guys at High Street Music were warm, welcoming and friendly and they made me feel right at home. Peter gave me 100% of his time and made me feel entirely certain about my choice. No rushing you out the door. No ego or pretence. Just real old school knowledge and stellar customer service. I’m so happy I went here and I’ll definitely be coming back to High Street Music for all my musical needs. Best music store in the north guys by a mile!
A most fantastic shopping experience, with staff that totally go out of their way to be as helpful & courteous as they can. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone needing anything guitar or string related.
As long as I live in Melbourne, I will shop nowhere else.
And for those just learning, they also have lessons available,
(though speak to staff about booking those) as I'm not qualified enough to divulge how they are set up.
But I do know,
if I were to need lessons, I'd be seeking their aid over anywhere/one else.
Great service, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Had a problem with the pickup on my guitar and was fixed perfectly and quickly! Thanks again!
I rang Thom at 11am on Monday to order an Eastman guitar, (I live in Geelong) and lo & behold, it arrived in perfect condition at 11am on Wednesday! Now that's what I call service. Thom was most congenial & friendly over the phone; something you don't find too often these days. Thanks Thom & staff for such a beautiful instrument. Love it.
These guys are No1. Exceptional services and professional advice you could not get anywhere else! Thanks to all at High Street Music Preston!
Cheers fella's. T&A:)
Really great store with lots of great options. Very friendly, helpful and pleasant to talk to. The owner gave me a great deal with huge discount and offered some accessories for free. I would highly recommend this store.
Very helpful awesome range of gear!
They fixed my 50th anniversary squire and it plays an absolute dream will be coming back for any repairs and instrument purchases
This is the only music store I will go to after the exceptional experience I received.
As soon as I walked into the store, the staff were actively making me feel comfortable and cared for. They catered to my specific needs and budget, and bent over backwards to ensure I was satisfied and well looked after. While I was contemplating exactly what I wanted to purchase, I was offered a coffee and made to feel well and truly at home. If you are looking to buy anything music related, I couldn’t suggest this place enough. 10/10,5 stars.
This place is a great find! We have made a few purchases here now. All staff have been very welcoming and professional every time. You can tell these people are passionate about their industry. Great service and knowledge, within a comfortable, homely setting. Highly recommended!
Stepping back into a music store after 20 years - I was pleasantly met by
a friendly and knowledgeable crew. I got an amazing deal on a guitar that I normally would be too scared to touch, let alone dream I could take it home. Yet here I am with a Huon Pine Cole and Clark dream.
I felt genuinley welcomed and treated like a human by good honest folk who know their stuff. They were patient and take the time to get to know what you are looking for.
I went back the next day and bought a second guitar:)
Great little shop, always a lovely relaxed vibe about the place. Peter and Thom really know their stuff and know how to build customer relationships (which keeps me coming back). And if you're a left-handed guitarist like me, there's a way above average selection of lefty instruments on offer. Highly recommended!
Great service & excellent range of quality guitars and equipment. Peter knows his stuff and is always helpful. Highly recommended music store.
Absolutely lovely staff, very grateful in particular to Cameron who demonstrated great care and compassion during these times to aid my purchase of my new $200 guitar
Peter, Tom and Cameron are very knowledgable and helpful. I took in my 1967 Höfner Classical guitar for a repair as the bridge snapped and was very happy with the results. Peter is a meticulous Luthier and I would trust him with any of my guitars. They have spare parts and a large selection of strings, instruments and gear. If they don’t have it, they can order it in. Also very generous in sharing of knowledge. A+
What can I say? Terrific service, super friendly staff, fantastic instruments, excellent prices. Bought my Cole Clark here and accessories. Great to have such a place as my local music store. Thanks heaps Peter, Tom and Cameron.
Very helpful and friendly staff. This is the kind of place that makes you feel like you're part of the community. Thanks for all you do.
Very unfortunate experience in this place - exorbitant prices and rude/unhelpful staff (to the point of being outright aggressive) - I certainly wouldn't recommend. I am sure I will receive pressure to remove this review.
