Authentic good quality Japanese style food. The menu has plenty of options and you can build your own breakfast too. Lunch is served from 11am. Our Cafe lattes were very good and there's also filtered coffee, genmaicha, matcha and other options. Quite a range of whiskeys behind the bar too.

Ordered simple breakfast of seeded sourdour and scrambled egg. Are toast meant to be soggy? Soaking up the moisture seeping from eggs.

Seriously good food, wonderful service, and the whole cafe is such a nice vibe. I’ve been to Haiku multiple times and their food has always been delicious. We went to Kuro (Haiku at night) tonight and the food was just sublime. Will definitely be back. Here are just a few snaps of some of the dishes we had.

Nothing that was outstanding or "wow"

Just your staple Japanese breakfast/lunch/brunch.

It's a bit pricey for what it is.

My partner and I visited during my birthday and they are packed. We waited for 30 mins for a table and i think it’s not that bad. I had the Teishoku - it was okay nothing special, chicken skewers - was amazing and my partner had scattered bowl w salmon- the salmon was overcook and very dry. For drinks we had matcha latte - it was okay not too grassy taste which i like and Lemonade - it was too sour like a straight up lemon.

It’s always busy at Haiku.

We ordered the Moreton Bay Bug Roll and Fish Tacos. The Tacos were great. The Bug roll was a bit disappointing. Lacked flavour and the bread roll was not fresh.

Fresh juice was good.

Good service.

The hype is real.

Delicious Japanese fusion brunch, well executed; tasty pulled duck in a Japanese broth. Saltiness punctured by the sourness of the pickles, crunch from the rice cake with the tenderness of the duck.

Felt a bit rushed as it’s busy with people lining up, but not enough to deter another visit

Cool atmosphere and tasty food, but…the service sadly lacked discipline and attention. Long wait times for drinks, difficult to attract the attention of waiting staff who seemed to be in a parallel world, glasses left on the table after delivering dishes. And when it came to paying the bill, the point of sale system was so inflexible, it couldn’t accommodate adding a tip and splitting the bill - never come across that before.

Loved the teishoku. Not many places do a proper Japanese breakfast- but Hibiki does and it’s delicious!

Interesting and unique Japanese influenced cocktails - Matcha Matsuri & Yuzu Margarita.

Mentai Carbonara Udon with lobster was very tasty, good flavour profile and quite sophisticated. Cod roe gave rich flavour and creaminess.

Chirashi Zushi bowl came with very fresh salmon sashimi, but overall the flavour wasn’t amazing and was a little bland. Overpriced for what you get.

Delicious little cafe with an inspiring menu! So hard to choose what to eat, ended up choosing Okonomiyaki. Will be back for sure! Drinks menu is also very impressive. Beautiful grocer linked next door which we wondered through while waiting for our table.

Delicious food using unique ingredients. They took into consideration of the flavour profile and texture of their dishes. Great options for food and drinks with menu rotation. Very efficient and friendly staff members. Will definitely revisit.

Over all nice experience, cool selection of Japanese fusion but I was a little disappointed with the teishoku I ordered as the salmon was really the only part of it that made the dish and the sides were very basic and not too tasty. Rice wasn't warm either, would have loved a miso or something to make it feel more like a teishoku. The mushroom toastie with the renkon chips were great though!

Saw a lot of good referral for the place on social media, and we also live nearby so can't really miss this joint, always busy with people lining at the front door. So we went to check it out a couple of times, but don't really get what the fuss is all about. The place is small, so it's always packed with people and noisy. The so-called Japanese fusion has little authentic Japanese cuisine element to it, it's basically very ordinary café dishes with some typical Japanese ingredients/sauces added to it. Coffee there is not great either, too sour to my taste.

Amazing food and great people. Just make sure you book a head to save time waiting. Nice spot in the back as well.

This place is cool. Tokyo style okonomiyaki, snobby Melbourne pour overs, Japanese manga art, Japanese whisky (there's a Hibiki 21). Simply a successful combination of Tokyo and Melbourne.

Loved it here. I've had both breakfast and dinner, and both provide delicious Japanese cuisine in a small intimate setting.

For any Japanese food enthusiast in the local area, this is a must try.

Great modern Japanese food. Parking can be awkward at times, and sometimes there is a wait but worth it in the end.

What an amazing place. My work colleague and I had lunch here and it was delish. I really enjoyed my okonomiyaki - lots of veg and full of flavour. Will definitely be back.

Really unique dishes and so tasty! We've been eating from Hibiki all throughout lockdown. My only gripe is that it's a very meat focused menu, would be nice to have a few more vegetarian options.
