Been waiting at the front for them to be open at5pm.
Time goes by. 5.10door still not open with 3staffs inside and ignoring us! Very very disappointed. Will not go back again!

Awesome vibe, delish food, friendly and genuine service. Love it. Was so happy to come here for good qual Mexican, loved the complimentary popcorn, cute touch.

Best fish tacos in Melbourne! Fish serving is super generous, gloriously battered and fried to perfection. Their sauces that they make to go with the tacos are simply divine. We always go for fish tacos and their corn on the cob. They also make a mean margarita if you're dining in!

Great little restaurant, even my Mexican friend loved the taco platter. Fresh, tasty and great prices. Didn't try the Tequilas or cocktails, but if they're as good as the food, they'd be worth indulging in!

My family of 5 went for dinner. The service could not have been any slower, 2.5hrs and left hungry. We ordered 2 of 6 different types of tacos. They came out split, 40mins between each! We then ordered more tacos because we were still hungry, zzzzz. Sorry, food was okay, but would not recommend a family to visit.

Super tasty tacos, would definitely recommend! Crispy chicken was unreal, as was the fish and vegan chorizo. Great sangria/cocktail jugs and excellent customer service - this place is a must-visit

I absolutely adore visiting this chilled little joint.

Firstly, it has the most wonderful outdoors area with the warmest vibe - on a cold winter day, the staff will always be happy to switch on a gas heater to make sure you're nice and cosy.

One of my favourite things is walking in the front door and immediately smelling the incredible aromas of a freshly pressed, authentic corn tortillas.

The tacos, all of them, are to die for. And to all the negative comments complaining about the size/shape/form of the tacos (maybe look within yourself if you don't know how authentic tacos are supposed to be sized and served).

The ceviche tostaditas are a must have, and, I know a place is good when I also absolutely adore their vegetarian/vegan options too as an avid meat eater.

Really tasty Mexican. The DIY take away taco feast was really fresh with very generous portion sizes - I couldn’t finish it all. I had the vegan option and it was full of flavour… The totopos stole the show though, basically loaded nachos - the perfect ratio of chips / salsa / sauce.

Great food, great vibe and great service. Tacos are light and authentic and spicy buffalo wings is to die for. This is our family’s favourite place for Mexican food.

I didn’t even enter the restaurant and I was already greeted by the disgusting behaviour from the Hello Jose workers. Lukumades being more popular unlike this restaurant, it was packed with customers. Mind you, it was pouring HEAVY rain and there isn’t enough shelter for everyone at Lukumades as it is a small shop. To shield us from the heavy rain some people stood under the Hello Jose’s shelter which is right next door. I as of many people weren’t even standing there long but all of a sudden the shelter starts getting pulled back, we were left standing there with no shelter and copped more of the heavy rain. I looked in the restaurant to see what was going on and I could see the workers laughing and gesturing us to shoo off like we were flies annoying them. If any of the workers were actual decent human beings, they would’ve come outside and told us nicely that they didn’t want us to stand in-front of their store and we would’ve moved away respectfully. But to purposely remove the shelter and laugh at us being rained upon to fill their own selfish amusement is absolutely horrible.

Would they have done the same to elderly people, or to their own family members? Probably, because by the many bad reviews I have read on their page, they do not care about the customers or people in general but solely on the money.

Instead of attacking people for sharing their negative experience at your restaurant, you should take it and improve your work. By your response, you are very unprofessional and need to be retrained in the customer service area which you and your workers lack SO much of.

It was not even near your closing time. I stood there around 9: 40 and there were no customers in your outside dining area. It looked like there were hardly any customers in your store at the time as well. If it was a 'private outside dining area' like you said, it would be blocked off or a sign would be up. But you don't not own a footpath.

We weren't even standing there for long and we didn't even disturb anyone. Closing up the shelter was not 'packing' up, it was clearly your workers doing it as a payback to us for standing in front of your store. Your workers even laughed at us and shooed us off. Again, if you didn't want us to stand in front of the store, kindly say something about it. It's not that hard.

It doesn't matter that we didn't dine at your restaurant, you do not treat people this way. The lack of respect and human decency you and your workers have is hurting this business. You are at fault.

By your own logic, if you were 'packing up' for your 'end of service' then a group of people standing outside wouldn't matter.

Delicious tacos, margarita and beer, joyously consumed whilst under the watchful eyes of these two at my neighbouring table.

Honestly some of the most authentic and delicious Mexican food I’ve had in Melbourne!
The margaritas are to die for and their special green sauce…. I want that it home in a bottle!
The wait staff are soooo friendly, helpful and attentive!

Great, efficient and friendly service, love the courtyard out the back.

If your mother or your wife and children were outside would you had done the same? Your staff were laughing as if we were scum. The fact that you sit there and call me a pathetic human just shows the type of person you are and they type of people you employ which proves my point.

Delicious food, fabulous drinks, impeccable service and a fun and friendly atmosphere! Can't beat the ceviche tostaditas, fish or pork tacos, or the churros! I always love my meal at Hello José!

Many times dining first time reviewing.overdue. Can’t speak highly enough of the food and the team with their passion for what they do characterizing the ambience and vibe. Unlike many Mexican places in Melbourne Hello Jose embodies the casual and relaxed street food feeling of authentic Mexico. Hard to pick fav’s from the menu as the tight menu leaves no room for missed but I can never go past the chicken wings. Will be continuing to return with mates again and again as the team make you feel very welcome and it’s a great spot to unwind on a nice afternoon / evening. Thanks Hello Jose team.

Delicious food. Even more tasty with their drinks. Definitely liked the Paloma. Such a vibe sitting outside in the little marque too. You need to go if you're into Mexican!

Ladies and gentlemen. Hello Jose is a must for any melbournian who likes Mexican food, or good food! Fish taco and the wings are gifts from god. Try the cocktails to get the party started, or for the beer lover Pacifo is perfecto. Did I mention the free popcorn? 500 stars
