Went to Rye for a getaway. Enjoyed great fish and chips, yummy pineapple fritters and dim sims

Average fish and chips

Calamari rings were not great, chewy and tasteless.

The coke was cold.

Flake was ok, lots of batter.

Chips and nuggets were good.

Potato cakes were thick.

Dim sims were fine.

Best fish and chip place by far, can be pretty packed but they're very quick and have good quality. Best steak sandwich out of all the fish and chips shops I've been to in VICTORIA

I always ordered fish battered and really nice and good… but this time the fish battered is raw and did not cook properly.disappointed banana flitter is good I enjoy it. Hopefully I will get a perfect fish battered nextime.

Very nice burgers! Very popular with the tourists but are upfront about wait times. Handy location, too.

Very good for for a decent price, only downside is they pack all order on one with no writing of which fish is what.so if like me you are inapt about how the fish is supposed to look like deep fried, you end up eating half the order of your partner.

Absolutely disgusting soggy oily, burnt hard potatoe cakes chips horrible flake extremely dry and soggy with oil completely wasted $30 on food could not eat. Do not waste your money…. Stay away

Pretty average IMO. Fish was ‘ok’, though obviously not fresh. Potatoe cakes and chips went in the bin. Dims Sims were fine.
Wife loved the pineapple fritters. Overall, wouldn’t revisit.

Amazing fish and chips, everything was super hot and fresh and crispy.staff were nice.benches to sit and wait and tables to eat at outside were much appreciated.would very much recommend.

I have been having hectors for 34yrs, have seen many new owners over the years and the food has always been pretty good.
The last few times on getting fish n chips the Potato cakes were so thick and half raw it was super eeewwwww!

Maybe some TLC on the potato cakes Mr Hector!

Such delicious fish and chips and very reasonably priced. Possibly the best fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time

Decent fish n chips.much better than what you can get in Sorrento.just wish we remembered to order sauce to go with it.

I love Hectors they are great people & its always fresh food that's very reasonably priced, they give generous portions of chips compared to other T/A food shops around this area this is my experience.
Andy the gentleman i believe manages Hector's Seafood is a lovely chap of whom i have much regard & respect, i can recommend Hector's Seafood personally having gone there now for over 10 years, i won't go to any other for my weekend dose of chips in Rye as i know what i'm getting and know its the best around for value, quality & freshness and very importantly they change the oil regularly too, it's always fresh, you can tell by the food yes you can.

I wouldn't even give them 1 star! ; They deserve none! If only "you", the community knew, you would be disgusted and never order from here again!

Really good service tonight & very fresh cooked flake. Always phone order ahead if possible is my recommendation

All in all ok. Potatoe cakes too dry as were the steamed dim dims for my liking. Grilled flake nice, moist and generous serve.

The chips were not well cooked like we had requested. The potato cakes were obviously old and frozen. Ganesh was very nice though

Hector's Seafoods - Tasty, fresh, Morsels from the deep. Allow your tastebuds to dance! Omg the Battered Muscles & Scallops are huge fresh & delicious.

The oil clearly is old…had that characteristic smell, calamari was not freshly fried and were just picked off the shelf. The pork smell in the dimsim makes you wonder when the expiry date was.after ordering the family pack to find ourselves without any sauce at all…. Wow just wow

Really great fish and chips and one of the few places that did not disappoint in the whole of the peninsula. It was a small walk away from the beach and while it seemed just like your run-of-the-mill fish and chip shop, everything was absolutely delicious. The souvlaki wasn't nearly as good as the snapper so I'd recommend staying with your classic seafood options if you don't have any aversions.
