Hecho En Mexico reviews
39The food was average, but sizing was reasonable. Despite there being very few customers, service was slow, we were half way through our meals before our drinks were served. Tables hadn't been cleaned, from previous customers so they had to clean a table, despite several tables sitting empty, before we could sit down. Abit over priced for the quality of the meals.
Food was delicious and very quick to arrive. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was very comfortable. Can highly recommend the horchata - could have drunk jugs of it!
Although the staff were great, the decor was awesome & the food & drink options were abundant - what we chose to eat was not as described. A soaked bread roll was in fact crispy (the photo showed a soft wrinkly roll, what we got was hard), and the filling we chose was chorizo & potato - I got a total of 0 potato pieces, my husband found 1 small piece in his. Would not recommend the Pambazo in Moonee Ponds. The drink, which was a $23 cocktail, also looked different to the photo. The photo looked like it was more of a pink/orange granita coloured grapefruit drink, what I got was a pale pink drink and looked like it was poured out of a Bundaberg Pink Grapefruit soft drink can.
If you like tasty (spicy) food, then this is the place for you. We had a big group and the staff managed it all extremely well. The servings were mainly generous in size, but the same could not be said for their Margaretta jugs which claim to hold enough for four glasses. The jug only filled three of the four glasses provided. This was the only downer in what was an excellent experience. Would still highly recommend and looking forward to a repeat visit.
Went to have dinner on Tuesday evening. Burritos and Quesadillas were good but the rice pudding we had in the last was definitely off.
The waiter refused to give wifi access to my friend.
The food and drinks were delicious.
We had the prawn and chicken paella and the beef birria tacos as well as a passion fruit margarita. The service was quick and friendly.
Beware as "medium" is very very hot here?
There is a vegan menu available and I recommend the soy chili con carne.
Horchata was lovely as well.
The saff are amazing. So friendly and welcoming.
Food was delicious and will leave your mouth tingling.
Highly recommended.might turn into a regular night out x
Rojina was awesome and the food was excellent as always! Highly recommend everyone visits. The beef birria is worth the drive.
Order a chicken burrito which it was meager in size for the $20 dollars price and tasted like meh. Left me hungry but lucky for me I've also ordered some nachos with guacamole only to find out that I was better off with some Doritos from Coles.
Amazing mexican food, the enchiladas, nachos were amazing. Tacos were ok ok. Dessert were the best.
Authentic and tasty!
All of the food we got was fantastic! Highly recommend the chimichanga!
Chips and Salsa + Guacamole was a perfect starter too.
My only complaint is that the classic margarita is $20 and is a incredibly small drink, compared to other types of their margaritas. However the Mango Margarita is tasty and comes with easily 2.5x more substance.
All in all, great food and great drinks! Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality Mexican food!
Lovely people serving lovely food with lovely service at a lovely price. Go on, ask for more.
Expensive for what it is, but enjoyable. $20 for a burrito where you need to pay extra for meat is not really my vibe, but it tastes great.
What I didn’t appreciate was the male waiter chasing me down the street yelling “excuse me lady” to then accuse me of not paying.
Next time, check with your staff before making an honest customer uncomfortable and embarrassing them in public.
Addressed my concerns with the restaurant directly but received no response.
Best food outside of Mexico. Have been to Mexico 4 times n eaten plenty. This is Def the best food outside Mexico. Moy bien! Pura Vida as they say in Costa rica!
Waiting staff - there were 4 - ignored us despite the restaurant being less than half full. Can't comment on the food as we left after 10 minutes. Like we were invisible! Ha!
I had a fish burrito which is fabulous and taco’s are also very nice. I will definitely try their food next time.
My experience dining at this restaurant wasn't as good as the first time. My drink order was forgotten about then I asked again and didn't receive it so then I declined. The waiting staff should pay more attention and listen carefully to patron's orders. When my friends and I went to pay we couldn't pay individually as we did last year. Then when we paid we were told there was a surcharge to the total bill? We will not be dining again at this establishment again.
I used to order quite regularly from this place. Even visited two times. Always thought the food was good. But this time something went horribly wrong. The photos show strings of charred meat all throughout the shredded pork and clumps of burnt meat. Not a nice surprise when you take a bite of your enchilada. Quite disappointed with the restaurant.
Nice place and good service. The food was average though, I'm willing to give it another go and try other things next time.
