A year ago I made the biggest decision in my life thus far and packed my bags and moved my life to Melbourne. I transferred with my gym in Sydney, but was finding it hard to adjust, I was lacking motivation and wasn't comfortable. I started looking for local gyms, stumbled across Healthy Fit and haven't looked back.
My Healthy Fit journey has been one of discovery and strength, a second home and familiar place while I built my life here. The entire team have made settling in easier, with guidance on fitness and simply checking in on life as a friend would. My whole life I have hated my body and had an unhealthy body image. From a very unhealthy childhood and being a heavy set 110kg teen to dropping down to a very gaunt 70kg. I was never happy with how I looked. Three years ago I decided to stop struggling against my natural body shape and stop trying to achieve the "slim" or "lean" look, it just wasn't working for me. I decided to embrace my shape and work to gain muscle and size. I will never be a large muscled person, that isn't my goal. Just like I will never take gym or diet too seriously. My body will never be "perfect" and I'm okay with that. My only body goal is happiness and Healthy Fit has helped guide me on strength and form and body happiness. Building a program that suits my body and goals and supports my lifestyle.
Comparison is the thief of joy. This is my body, for me. Just like that is your body, for you. I've never felt this strong, both physically and mentally and I have Healthy Fit and the team to thank for that.

I've tried many different gyms and have had varying degrees of success. The change was never consistent or sustainable.

I attended a gym before coming to Healthy Fit, they helped get me into shape and started shifting my mindset into making exercise a lifestyle, the biggest issue I had was that they were just too big.

A friend then recommended Healthy Fit and this place has helped to cement exercise into my routine, while being treated like an human being rather than just a paying robot.

The group classes are motivating, challenging, and a lot of fun. I get a physical and emotional rush from my experience here. The trainers and the other members all provide nourishment on many levels.

I am the strongest and probably the fittest I've ever been, and what's great about this place is that I feel like I've got the support to continue improving each time I'm ready to take the next step.

Each of the trainers brings something different to the mix and they're all genuinely enthused to be there.

It's a fantastic place to train, I love Healthy Fit.

I joined Healthy Fit many years ago. Their professional and customer focussed approach; the facilities and trainers are amazing.
Bridgette, Kaan, Eamon, David and Stefano, thankyou for your encouragement to push myself more with each visit.
Limitations due to my age have not been an obstacle as you have shown me there are many ways to achieve the same outcome.
Healthy Fit is a great family to be part of and so welcoming. I go to the gym 3 days a week. The improvements in my fitness are a motivator to keep me going.

“My weight is no longer a risk factor for diabetes & I love myself & my body”
Say hello to Jonna who has completed the first half of her 12 month nutrition coaching program with us.
We asked Jonna to share some of the changes she has experienced since beginning the program:
“Before beginning nutrition coaching, I had many things I wanted to achieve but no matter how many times I tried, I kept falling short of achieving them.
Some of the issues I continuously faced were:
1. Being overweight & having huge belly. Which made me very unhappy with myself.
2. I was worried of getting diabetes because of my weight
3. I kept emotionally eating.
4. My hormones were out of whack
5. I kept getting cravings. All I could think about was when I was going to get my next sugar hit.
6. I was always bloated & felt uncomfortable
7. I always had negative thoughts & hated myself
And NOW I just feel FANTASTIC!
1. My weight is normal & I love myself & my body.
2. My weight is no longer a risk factor for diabetes
3. I now eat only when hungry & have learnt to eat a balanced diet which means I now plan my meals & try new recipes
4. My menstrual cycle is regular for the first time in my life & it to be honest it really shouldn’t be as I do suffer from PCOS
5. I am satisfied & grateful for my life & no longer moody
6. I am stronger & doing things with my body I couldn’t do before
7. I have a positive outlook on life

I have been going to Healthy Fit for more than 6 months now. It is a great gym that has all the right ingredients in the right dosage: Never too crowded even at peak hours - the number of machines, equipment and weights mean zero waiting time, music is never too loud, friendly and very knowledgeable trainers and staff that make you feel at home, greet you by your name with a genuine smile and a 'how are you? ', and finally, normal levels of testosterone - no shouting and screaming big guys throwing weights at each other while making orgasm-like faces and noises. A great place to be.

I never thought exercise would become such an important part of my life. I started exercising at 60 and now am 66. I have lost a lot of weight and find I am so much more engaged with life. I do more and enjoy more such as tennis trekking cycling.

There is no doubt that its Wendy at Healthy Fit that keeps me going. She is knowledgeable, motivating and responsible. I am in the process of working though a frozen shoulder and Wendy exchanges opinions and advice from my medical professional to ensure a speedy safe recovery.

In July my husband and I are walking the pilgrimage from Portugal to Spain. Who would have thought I would be fit enough to do that. Thank you Wendy.

In my opinion any one who says they haven't got time for exercise just doesn't have time for life. '
