Hawthorn Arts Centre reviews
39Came here for bands festival. We got gold and did better than a private all girls school that had a way bigger band than us.
The building is very nice however their artwork they have there to me is atrocious. Yes I am not had much dealings with art but I so see a quantity of smart and exquisite designs in art but this was totally yuk. I wonder who paid for them with the ratepayers money.
Nice off-street parking which helped very much. And directions to the appropriate rooms were easily identifiable.
Please note that this is a government building and beautifully constructed in the nineteenth century architecture.
We live close to the Hawthorn Arts Centre. I often take my kids there after school. Sometime the kids do drawing at the public art booth. Or sometime we just sit there to enjoy the serenity of the place. My 7 years old daughter once asked me: " Did the Queen live here before? " as she thinks it looks like the Royal Palace. Thank you the council of Boroondara for maintaining the centre in good shape.
Terrific facilities for a concert. The new renovated section is great. I love the architecture and atmosphere these old town halls have.
Drop in, take a rest, see some art, have a coffee. An impressive building and friendly staff, who are there to help.
Great place to check out arts and activities for kids. But the receptionist seems have no clue about what's going on at the place. Need a bit more to help the locals and visitors.
Multi function center, town hall of the city. Nice hall, beautiful building, professional service
Beautiful charming reception for a wedding event. At Kelleeflowers we can create all flower arrangements to suit your needs.
Had a great time as part of Camberwell Showtime, and it has really beautiful architecture, good facilities and is close to the Glenferrie train station
Absolutely beautiful venue
Staff are amazing
Very clean amenities
Hosted an exhibition here and I must say, it was definitely my favourite venue I've worked with in my 35year career.
Love it I just love it.:)
Victorian era heritage interior with a formal parliamentary opulent vibe. Very reminiscent of Victorian buildings built in early times.
It was definitely an experience to perform there for Camberwell Showtime. I enjoyed visiting the museum and the receptionist are always smiling.
Highly recommended place to check out if you haven’t already.
A beautiful building right in the heart of Melbourne City. Well, technically not the heart of the city, but close by. The architecture is amazing built someone in 1890s, so not in the near past. Anyways, this building is open as an museum, a community place and as a venue for events.
I enjoyed competing and performing here at the Bundura Festival (I don't really know how to spell it). I completed in the under 18 and open a capella choir categories. The hall is of a nice size for performances and has good acoustics
Had a scholarship ceremony here, worked very well as a function and presentation facility.
Very clean amenities, easy access from Burwood Rd, and clear accoustics inside the theatre area. I would highly recommend for a function of presentation ceremony, 10/10.
Hawthorn Arts Centre was a great experience. We went to see Isaiah Firebrace in concert. For a hall that was opened in the 1880's, it was very well maintained and had a great atmosphere about it. The staff were very friendly and hospitable and made you feel very welcome. The amenities we're very clean and the local restaurants were a great treat to the surroundings as our only a 30 second walk away which made it very convenient
Great place to come and see the scouts and their camberwell showtime performance each year in august.
Was part of an exhibition here recently, so experience from both sides. Place and space are amazing. Staff could not have been more helpful when dealing with the principal of our group or any of the members. Exhibition spaces are fabulous, speaking spaces really work. Worth visiting as an art lover, and exhibiting or presenting as artist/speaker.
Great band (tinpan orange), but the layout was like a wedding venue - band was miles from the audience which meant they couldn't 'connect' with the crowd. Shame really, it resulted in lack of atmosphere - not the fault of the band.
