This beautifully redecorated, eclectic, historic hotel is run by a group of intelligent and engaging women who offer great food, service and Joie de vivre!

The service left alot to be desired. First of all had to ask where the second grazing platter was completely missed some how. We waited roughly 1.25 hours to get entrees and then it was only because we started asking. As for the response from the staff when we wanted to know what was going on not only the floor staff also manager/ maybe owner the rude comments from her and made to feel uncomfortable. Then as food is about to get sorted ran out of a regular item in the menu. Things go wrong l get it but be professional apologies and get on with it not winge make smart comments and make your customers uncomfortable. If you cannot handle the numbers shouldn't seat so many. As for the food entree calamari was no better than the local pub but the main was very good. Unfortunately we will not be setting foot in here again due to the staff behaviour we spent good money weren't sitting in KFC.

Birthday lunch. Great place to eat, we were in a nice quiet room with only 3 tables and a lovely warm fireplace. Service was good, staff friendly and most of all food was delicious. We will definitely be back.

This experience is a must.

Daughter took me there for Mothers Day and I loved it so much that I booked the following weekend for our wedding anniversary. The food is great the rooms beautiful and very quaint. We were beside the open fire which I loved and added to the atmosphere. Most importantly were the waiting staff and owner who go beyond to make you feel welcome. Highly recommend.

Do yourself a favour and go here. Atmosphere + Staff amazing. A wonderful step back in time. Not too far back. Have a couple of cocktails and even stay the night. Thanks guys I'll be back.

Absolutely delicious food and lovely staff. We had sharing plates for lunch and every single dish was tasty - calamari, meatballs, baked Camembert, salad and green beans. Looking forward to coming back!

Lovely place for a morning out, the best coffee and scrumptious treats from the market enjoyed in the sunshine in the garden, we'll be back!

Nestled into the small hub of Avenel is this little gem. Coming out of Covid I wandered up to their little window to be served a deliscous coffee. Really smooth coffee in a small town. Nicely done guys.

The chocolate fondant was the best I've had! Love the open fire places, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.

Great spot, food was perfect. Plenty of local wines and beer on tap great place to stop in for a feed

My daughter suggested i stop there for lunch and I'm glad I did. Wonderful old pub with great food and service.

Set in a town in the Strathbogie wine region this former pub serves some excellent food accompanied by an interesting and approachable wine list. All our choices were well prepared and thoroughly enjoyable.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Harvest Home last night. Knowing that it was a special occasion, the staff put us in a private room away from other diners and had hand picked fresh roses for our table just before our arrival. The girls working on the night were both friendly and attentive. The chef even came to make sure everything was OK. The food was fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel for a meal.well worthy of its 5 start rating. Great job guys, we will be back)

We both had the steak (eye fillet) and chips. Green beans as a side. The steak was on the smallish side however it was so tender that it just melted like butter. The jus was beautiful and the chips were the best chips ever. I'm not sure but I would say they were home made. The beans were also garlicky and delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and very attentive. Highly recommend this place.

Lunched there today, a party of four. Excellent meal in a grand old place that has been part of the fabric of Avenel for decades. Now restored to its earlier ambience, I would recommend it to anyone seeking good food and good wine.
Not often can one dine well in peaceful surroundings that encourage conversation. An excellent and unhurried experience. Thanks Sam.

More peeps should visit this place. OMG the food never disappoints. Every meal I have had there has been outstanding.
