Great if you're just looking for a bed for the night, though be prepared if it's a public holiday they will try to sting you for a three-night minimum. We just had proof they'd originally stated two so they upheld that.

We stayed in a cabin, not the log ones, the smaller ones that are like a caravan annex. Be warned, that while you will have a toilet and shower to yourself, these are not inside your cabin but in a small outhouse behind your cabin, which is not ideal if you're planning to attend a wedding as there is no spot with good light for applying make-up. I know most of you will be campers, but there will be other weddings there so it warranted mentioning.

When asked if there was a shuttle or taxi (silly question I know, but never hurts to ask) down to the wedding venue we were told "no, but there's no cops either". With those roads being a bit hairy for those unfamiliar, the owner suggesting drinking & driving (with a child) is not sound advice for your patrons.

I think the word "resort" is what threw us, you expect something very different when you see that in a name.

Cabin was passably clean, though it was very much like stepping back into the 80s.

Drinking water available from a tank just up from the office as all water in cabins and amenities is lake water & not safe to drink.

We enjoyed our stay in a cabin with wildlife all around. The cabin was spacious, very clean and comfortable.

Awesome camp site, we got the powered site, it wasn’t given a grass patch, so it was sandy. Toilet needs a lift. Other than that, it was great. Roos greet us in the morning, quiet and short drive to all hikes. Will recommend.

Nearby halls gap, they have fuel at site, with drinking water, shower, many toilets and laundry.
There's a kitchen for campers
All rooms have TV and fridge and they have own showers

Beautiful unpowered camping, great facilities and well maintained. Had a lovely time and can't wait to return

Great location, good amenities, incredible wildlife, and the shop has a bit of everything.
The log cabin has all you need but it could be cleaner, there were small fezes (maybe from rats or cockroaches) with the cutlery and dishes. And the door was open so there were many flies inside the cabin. It took a while to clean everything so we could use it and relax inside.

Great location to explore the northern Grampians. New owners are lovely and very helpful. I chose the bush camping location which is like staying in your own private park! Shops is well stocked. Kitchen and games room are great, amenities block are clean but need renewal (plans for these to be replaced in 2023). Overall what you get for what you pay is great value

Don’t be fooled by the word resort style. The location is fabulous but the amenities are a disaster. No hot water from the taps, not clean and very hot on warm days. There is a form at the door saying there will be a full renovation but that does not mean that it doesn’t need cleaning when used by guests. There is no filtered water for drinking or cooking on the premises. Bring enough with you or buy at the camp shop. Sites not levelled. Kitchen is huge, but no fan or airco to blow the heat away. No cutlery or pottery. Big cooking range working fine. But also here, no cleaning the 3 days we were here.

New owners are easy going & kind. Great place and value. Clean facilities, good area, great telstra service (4bars!) and no issues. Open from 9-6pm is a nice bonus too. We enjoyed the ensuite. Thanks again to those at the happy wanderer for saving us!

Nice location, clean cabin. But.bed was on wheels and kept rolling around the room, no bedside tables, no bedside lamp, no coffee table. And the worst thing - no milk! When owner was asked if we could have a bit of milk for our complimentary tea and coffee, he stated he'd never had milk anywhere he'd stayed. He only had 2 litre bottles in the fridge for sale. I've always had complimentary milk, at every single venue, and even been asked if I wanted fresh milk rather than UHT. When pushed, he eventually gave us half a cup of his own milk. If we'd known, we would have bought our own, but we're used to always having complimentary milk. The attitude was poor. And the place has not been updated in 30 years since we last stayed there. Wouldn't stay again - much nicer options available elsewhere.

Highly recommend the stay here! We camped in swags on the ensuite site. The ensuite is old fashioned, but extremely clean and well kept, the shower is amazing especially after a day of hiking.
The owners are very friendly, accommodating and easy going. The views from this camping ground are incredible, it’s more secluded away from the crowds which we appreciated. The wildlife is a huge bonus, so many kangaroos it’s just a beautiful location. Not far to drive to Mackenzie falls and halls gap if you need. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks for the stay!

Visited this place by chance to pump petrol, but it was definitely a gem in Grampians. Met Julian who is the most helpful person I had met during my trip. She really went all out to make sure you get the information. I was about to visit the MacKenzie Falls and Pinnacle Lookout, but somehow the roads were closed. She shows me the way to ensure that I had a smooth ride and even gave me alternative routes or even other sightseeing attractions.

If I would have known that this RV site had such a wonderful owners, I would have booked it in advance. Anyone that want to book a RV site can definitely search and ask Happy Wanderer Holiday Resort.

Great little place, under new management! Lovely owners and great service. In a true magnificent location, only 30 minutes away from "to busy" Halls Gap. Still Close by to all the things to see in the grampians!

New managers were fantastic. They were so helpful. They have big plans for improving the park which will make it even better. Thanks guys. I'll be back for sure.

Was only going to stay 3 days but will end up staying 7. The new owners are fantastic, so very friendly and helpful. Park is only 35 mins from either Horsham or Halls Gap.
We had a power site with ensuite. Can have a fire and lots of wild life around. The park is rustic and needs some work done on it, but don't let this stop you from staying here.
The new owners Jill n Phil have great plans afoot to make this park really nice. The park has got log cabins with a fire place in them for cosy warm night. Great views of The Grampians. Would we come back OH YES. So very peaceful.

The place has been recently bought over from previous owners and they work really hard to accommodate all the guests during their first long weekend period. I really like the staff and the property that we camped in.

Lots to do.tennis, swimming pool, they have working toilets and hot showers, a kids playground and even event nights.

Something to do for the whole family!

See y'all next time!

Don’t judge this Resort from any of the reviews that are over a month. The new owners Phil and Julian are the most beautiful and respectful people you could have as owners to a Resort. They go out of their way to make your stay the best they can and will try and cater for any requests made. We just had a reunion there over the labour day long weekend (their first big weekend since taking on the Resort) and I have had nothing but positive feedback. We had 2 other large groups there as well but the resort is big enough we never felt restricted. The pool is awesome and the store is filled with most items you may need to top up on or might have forgotten. The prices are very good as well not over inflated. Most product being priced similar to a large servo or small IGA. I believe from past experience the store is probably cheaper than the supermarket in Halls Gap. The views from the cabins are well worth paying for and I would be pretty confident in saying you would be lucky to find any better in the Grampians. There is also a restaurant roughly 15 to 20min walk down the road which has quality reasonably priced meals. The pool is awesome and lots of play things for the kids. If your coming in a larger group there is a big shed that has a massive kitchen and undercover outside area. We used it and it really made our event special. I can’t say enough about how much the new owners have put in in just a month but there is so much more in the plans that I believe will turn this Resort into one of the best Grampians stays. So get away for a weekend or use it as a base as you explore. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks again to the Happy Wanderer Resort for Hosting our 2022 Reunion.
