We had the beef roll which was delicious. Price range is higher than other Vietnamese restaurant but the food was great.

They serve proper Hanoi bun cha, it was absolutely amazing, the best I've ever had.

This is the only place I've managed to find that serves it just like I've had in Hanoi, it was amazing, and the service was wonderful too.

Have been coming here often for the last year and never disappointed. Their fresh tasting dishes always makes for a great dinner out or takeaway to enjoy at home. Never have to wait long for a table even when it is busy.

The food was awesome. Service a bit patchy. Drinks came half an hour after our first meal arrived and we had to ask. But worth a retry because food was delicious.

Love this place. My Go To place on Sydney Rd. Yummy food & good service. Quick too, for weird meal breaks times.

Fantastic range of clearly labelled gluten free and gluten free option dishes, which as someone with Coeliac disease is super helpful. Staff were an absolute delight. Highly recommend!

Delicious! So happy to find a Vietnamese restaurant that is local and can cater to coeliacs. 10/10 for me. It can be pretty hard to find people as accommodating.

I came again to Hanoi Rose, and there were more, and more new dishes; especially the "Banh mi": it's so nice and tasty.

(2019)
I have never been here before. Today I and my wife came here for lunch & ordering: Pho and Bun cha. I must say: pho here is better than in Footscray, Richmond, Springvale.and Bun cha here is as good as Bun cha Obama in Hanoi (Vietnam). Perhaps, if you followed the news; in 2016 on an official trip to Vietnam, president Obama was introduced by Chef Anthony Bourdain one of the famous Vietnamese dishes: "Bun cha". Later on the people in Hanoi called it: "Bun cha Obama". That's what I mean: Bun cha in Hanoi Rose is as good as Bun cha Obama in Hanoi. If you have not been here before: don't forget to come to Hanoi Rose, a highly recommended Vietnamese restaurant in Melbourne.

Absolutely delicious food, generous servings and friendly service. My friend has Coeliacs and was able to find many gluten-free options in the extensive menu. If you’re looking for tasty and fresh Vietnamese food served with a smile then look no further.

Some of the tastiest Vietnamese I have had in Melbourne AND they have gluten free banh mi! It's actually the first time I have been able to try banh mi and it was really tasty and satisfying. I had the grilled chicken one and will definitely get it again.
It's really easy to order from their website and everything I have tried has been tasty and fresh. I like their rice paper rolls and.ok everything.

Bahn Mi’s were really average. Wouldn’t buy again. Also I thought the eggplant was really unnecessary addition to the tofu roll just made it slimy and didn’t enjoy it.

As above, I came across this restaurant by accident and ordered a vegan banh mi with pate. The lady who attended me was very kind and happy to explain me what the vegan meat was in my order and suggested not to add mayo in my vegan banh mi since it does not work well with the special sauce in the vegan banh mi. The banh mi was delicious and even though it cost more than my at usual go-to banh mi place, I give Hanoi Rose 5-stars and looking forward to coming back again.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES
I don’t normally write reviews however this is necessary.
I strongly advise anyone with allergies to stay away from this restaurant.
My family and I have many allergies and we had heard good reviews about this restaurant for looking after allergies. However this was clearly not the case. The restaurant is careless and negligent when preparing their dishes. I drove about 50 minutes round trip and wrote on the order no seafood and no gluten in the dishes as I am seriously allergic to seafood. Once I got to the restaurant I got them to double check that there was no gluten or seafood in any of the dishes. They assured me it was all well looked after. I ordered a few dishes including a Chicken fried rice. When I got home after my long drive and was about to take a bite from the fried rice I luckily realised that it wasn’t chicken in my fried rice. Their was prawns in my “chicken” fried rice. Not only one prawn but it was filled with prawns. If I took even one bite of that it could have potentially been deadly. Obviously I was very worried and hesitant to eat the other dishes cause some of the recipes included fish sauce. Although we said no seafood and no fish sauce on the order I was not willing to risk my life because of this reckless restaurant. I called the restaurant and explained my situation hoping for a reasonable resolution. They offered me a $20 voucher which was insulting. 50 minute round trip that could potentially have been fatal. We didn’t eat about half the food because of their carelessness and that was the solution they offered. I was extremely unhappy and dissatisfied with their service and would highly recommend anyone with allergies to stay away from this restaurant as they do not take enough care.
