Hachi Kichi

This fabulous Japanese restaurant is quite small and cosy, it's got a great atmosphere and feels a bit like being transported to Japan. The menu is extensive and suited everyone - from vegetarian through to carnivores. The wine list is pretty good too. The staff are wonderful. The food is fresh and delicious. Highly highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

Great first time meal at this popular Japanese restaurant last night. Excellent menu, friendly service and great local atmosphere in Brighton.

Great value lunch box that is always beautifully cooked. We really enjoy their menu. The staff are friendly and helpful. This is a small restaurant so be sure to book. 2 tables are outside that can seat 4. Around 4 to 5 tables inside. Recommend this lovely little restaurant

Really great experience. Very accommodating and quick! Best of all the food tasted authentic. It was also good to get some homely/authentic options you don't get at a lot of other local places

Unfortunately they have just put up their prices!
It was expensive before for very small snack portions but now is over the top.
The service is lovely and the quality is good, just not justified for the price.

My visit to this restaurant is always very pleasant. The staff try hard and are genuinely friendly, plenty of free parking 2-3-4 minutes walk away, the ingredients are fresh and tasty, the prices are good and it is a nice place to be. Many people rate this place well for a good reason! Go there and you will understand why.

Really tasty Japanese food, and everything fresh which is imperative when you're working with raw fish.

Food is spectacular here! We go here almost every weekend and each time the staff are extremely welcoming, lovely and kind to not only us but everyone else in the restaurant. Service is timely too. Great menu with the best Japanese food in Melbourne! Would highly recommend.

Best Japanese food at a brilliant price. We had such warm and friendly service. Great, upbeat vibe. The pork gyoza was the best I have ever tasted. Tempura was perfect- hot, crisp and without a trace of oil as was the katsu. The sushi burst with freshness as did all our banquet-y array of taste sensations. Oh.dessert.yes and YES. Green tea mochi.so good it could make a grown girl cry.the emotions.

Dropped in to grab a quick bite to eat, the other day for lunch, it was very nice! The staff were super friendly and helpful. Service was quick, and the food was very tasty. Thanks Team

I’m sorry I didn’t get photos of the food. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. You cannot go wrong. Service is second to none. The place is quite small and very cozy. I’ll be very happy to attend it in the future as many times as possible. Thank you for looking after us. The whole bill was &100 for four of us. Amazing value for money

AVOID here! Fake Japanese restaurant! Shame on them! First of all, The restaurant is run by Vietnamese, instead of Japanese. The cuisine is not the traditional Japanese style. I’ve been Japan for 2 years, and I know how does Japanese food taste like. A waitress blowed her nose in front of patrons and didn’t wash her hands after that. It’s pretty disgusting and unhealthy, especially during the pandemic. They also delayed a lot to serve my dishes.

Amazing tasty food with fresh ingredients. Probably the best one in the area. Love your Bento and Miso soup. We will try everything single item in your menu. Thanks guys and keep up the fantastic work!

Tastes okay and reasonably fresh but TINY portions for $20-30. The neighbours call it Poverty Sushi

Would give it a zero if I could. Hostess stand was rude. It take 1 hr to give me my order. Come here if you want attitude

An interesting fusion.

We tried the spicy tuna roll, which was topped with a kind of pico de gallo with corn. It was an interesting combination, but not to our taste.

The tuna/avocado maki was ok but not very flavorful.
