Gyoza Gyoza - Japanese Restaurant Doncaster reviews
58We love coming to Gyoza Gyoza! The menu has a large variety & the portion sizes are very generous for their price & as tapas dishes. They often add to the menu meaning there is always something new to try. The dishes taste authentic, including the agedashi tofu & gyoza. Their creative drinks & desserts are also a must!
Went for a evening snack today and the dishes we ordered were really good and was served real quick. I have added the pics of the food ordered. Will go there again to explore the main course options they have in the menu. Will strongly recommend to try if you want a taste of Japanese food with a slight twist.
Very good place to visit. They have very good selection of hot drinks as I like Jasmine tea.
Had a 530 booking on a Wednesday and the retsaurant stayed open later to accomodate our booking which was very generous. The food coming out just looked better and better, everything was just delicious.
Food here was good. But the one in the CBD is soooo much better, genuinely like this place but its trash in comparison. Also the booths where u sit is like a really tight squeeze, I promise u it’s not me it’s the design cos there’s like a frying panel in the middle, but it’s not very inclusive. The gyozas I expected better
Enjoyed the unagi stonepot, pork and garlic gyoza, soft shell crab salad and tempura prawn. Friendly service.
Lovely food and atmosphere and customer service. The music they played was also exciting. Outstanding restaurant.
We have been coming here every few months for the last few years and has always been excellent. Today was not a good experience.
Service was not great. People who were seated after my party of 4 were given iPads to order and water prior to us. Even after asking several times for water, it took them another 10 minutes to give us water (that too on a 30+ degree day). Mind you there were only three groups dining including us (two of whom came after us).
The food came out so stagnated. Our tofu dish came prior to our rice or our edamame, and there was always a 6-7 minute gap between each item ordered. So strange considering everything was ordered at the same time. Our drinks were given right at the end of the meal once all our food was finished.
Edamame was not steamed enough and were hard. Vegetarian fried rice was definitely fried (but not in the traditional way). The rice was dry and crunchy? Covered in burnt garlic pieces and the dish had no veggies in it what so ever. Strange concept of vegetarian fried rice and completely different to the photo and what I had just a few months prior…at this exact branch. Chicken yakitori was undercooked.
Tempura was oily beyond belief.
Everything else ordered was bad, but these three were the major disappointments of our family lunch.
No apologies from the staff upon addressing this, nor acknowledgment of the issues and the staff lacked pleasantness. Despite working and living nearby, I will never be going again.
The Hojicha drink with Matcha Soft was delicious. It tastes earthy, sweet and bitter. The Matcha Parfait was also delicious with a good texture because of the rice puffs and cornflakes. The service is also good. ⅞
Really Good Food, Really good service and Atomsphere. I would recommend it to other people to come here and try the food
Ordered the yakisoba, gyozas, and some other good. Best Japanese food by far at Doncaster mall. Gyozas are crisp and good sauce. Yakisoba is very tasty flavor (highlight).
Great Gyozas, funky look, friendly staff and novelty items for sale.
Love the Asahi black on tap and the Yuzu drinks too.
We tried a range of small dishes, all were good. The ordering system is well designed & easy to use. Overall a good lunch
Beyond poor experience, paid 150 for barely 7 small items, the sashimi came out frozen 13 pieces for 59 dollars, the gyoza came out cold in the middle, the tea had added sugar and environment was polluted with rice stuck initially to the seats we booked.
Get away from this place: (
My first time dining with Gyoza Gyoza Doncaster was pleasant and the food was above average. The table service was lovely also. Slightly expensive but would definitely come back.
Great place to hang out had dinner here with a girlfriend to celebrate our birthdays we had an awesome time. Food comes in small portions so we had a good variety. Fantastic service from Chris!
We come here frequently and it’s always been good, but it feels like it has gotten even nicer recently.
The new menu has a lot of things I’d like to come back and try.
Our previous experience at the Chadstone shop was very good. Unfortunately the doncaster shop is one of the worst ones we have tried.
Extremely understaffed, only 2 guys on the floor and the poor trainee wasn’t sure what to do at times.
Took a really long time for food to arrive and the worst was that they were all half cold already.
Food was very average. Overall really disappointed, will never go back again. Oh
I didn't feel the value I expected. The time when the food was served was too long. I didn't feel the anticipation or taste as much as I waited. I don't intend to visit here any more.
