Awesome tapas style Japanese restaurant. An excellent selection of food, with extremely fast service. Will totally be coming back here!
The Mini burger and the Gyoza were a big standout, well worth trying!

Great selection for the lunch special! (Just be aware that it can get busy during the lunch rush and your meals may take a second to arrive) Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Izakaya style restaurant with a big selection of japas-style dishes and also drinks. The food are pretty good although I wouldn't call it authentic. Their seating arrangement is split into smaller sections so it's not very ideal for a large group. The renkon chips and the karaage are highly recommended.

Food tasted good, friendly staff, reasonably priced.

Only issue was that most of the desserts weren’t available and it was 7pm on Saturday night so coming into what I would assume is among their busiest times of the week.

Quite a slow and relaxed atmosphere. The food servings may be small but there is plenty of flavour. We came for the Yukke and it didn't disappoint. Price adds up quickly so keep that in mind. If you write a review you also receive a small matcha parfait - that's neat.

Been here twice, same experience both times. Amazing food, but absolutely ridiculous wait times. It was about an hour on my last visit, but my most recent visit had me waiting 2.5 hours for my food, while everyone in our party got their dishes. Ridiculous!

Really outstanding food, and fantastic value! My wife and I always visit here at least once every time we visit Melbourne! The quality of food and huge variety is certain to satisfy any taste, but it's the value that wins it for me. The size of portion and price beats so many others in Melbourne. It want busy when we ordered so service of all meals took around 5 minutes! Great if you have a short lunch break I guess.
Visited today and will certainly be back again!

We live about an hour and a half from Melbourne CBD and sometimes just drive in to eat at Gyoza Douraka. The service is always amazing and every single thing we've ever tried always tastes delicious.

Gyoza Douraku serves tapas style Japanese food. There is a large variety to choose from and most are between $6.80 and $8.00. It gives you an opportunity to try a lot of different dishes. We ordered the Yukke, Tuna Tataki, Ebi Kakiage, Soft Shell Crab Mini Burgers and Gyoza. All were very nice and we enjoyed the dishes we selected.

In addition to the delicious dishes they serve cocktails. We had the Peach Sangria and the Strawberry Kiss. Both $15.90 as are all the cocktails by the glass. 1litre cocktail jugs are $24.90. They also have a large range of whisky, shochu, sake and teas. The only suggestion I would have is to have a little less ice in the drinks.

The staff were friendly and helpful and service was good.

Would recommend this restaurant for its range of dishes and drinks.

Amazing value and great vibe, and the sake menu and prices are reasonable which is hard to find in Melbourne these days. The kimchi gyoza and the fried chicken with salt were very good. We highly recommend for a cold sake and izykaya food at a great price. And the girls from Japan that served us were delightful:)

After a long day of traveling, looking for some simple comfort Japanese food in Melbourne. Very cozy restaurant with an extensive menus. We ordered oysters, tako wasabi, fried octopus, fried shrimp, and truffle yakitori. All dishes were so delicious! Highly recommend stopping here for a solid izakaya experience.

Nice place to hang out with friends, the menu is very different to other Japanese restaurants that I've ever visited and the matcha beer is definetely a very interesting taste.

Great selection of food and drink. The gyoza were amazing and there were at least 6 types of filling. You could also get them in the different ways. We had both the pan fried and the soup based gyoza. The other food was really top notch as well.

Simple, light dinner. Service was fast and the food was good. The restaurant was also nice and quiet. It's a great place to come eat alone or with a partner. Would highly recommend the steamed Chef's Special dumplings!

Always have an amazing time at Gyoza Douraku. Diverse Japanese food options at such an affordable price per dish means you can try a bit of everything for the price of a single dish at most places.
Love my Doncaster & Melbourne CBD stores.

The food came out promptly, we liked the peach tea which was not too sweet. Our favourite dish was the seafood spring rolls (pictured). We also loved the signature Gyoza. We recommend dining here
