Gurneys Cider reviews
65 What a last minute discovery!
We lobbed on the doorstep of Gurneys Cider 40 minutes before closing. While we knew we were cutting it fine, at no stage did we feel rushed. In fact, we were encouraged to take out time, relax and enjoy our experience.
And we did
Cider = Excellent
Food = Good
Hospitality = Superb
Location = Exquisite
Being last to leave meant we were able to talk with the team. It was fascinating to hear what led a family of four into starting a cider brewery (and small business).
It's a shame we're not locals, as we'd be lazy Sunday afternoon regulars if we were.
I accessed the Gurney's cellar door off from the Rail trail during my bike ride. Lovely property with gorgeous rustic timber and glass buildings. Relaxing views that are spectacular to enjoy and reflect. Fun to try the variety of ciders and enjoyed a ploughman's platter also. Great to see local boutique businesses offering unique experiences in the immersive South Gippsland
We were recently in south Gippsland and Gurneys was on our planned list of places to visit from the visit Vic recommendations. I was keen to try out cider as its not a drink that I usually have, but I was put off from visiting you as it would have cost $20for a paddle just to sample something I may not like. We spent our money elsewhere.
Superb in every aspect. Amazing views of the prom. Great local produce and some of the best ciders I have ever had the pleasure to sample. Throw in friendly and fun staff then what's not to like? I shall return.
Lovely and welcoming. Stress free. Simple done right. Views amazing. Interesting and delish selection of dry ciders. Pickies for food though not a substancial restaurant, FYI
We had a lovely visit to Gurneys - really enjoyed the food and drink, especially the Ice Cider and the cherry cider.
Great views and very friendly staff
Well well.to begin with it’s one of the best cidreries I’ve visited. Great range of ciders matched with different platters. Very nice and welcoming staff located in a prime location with fantastic views.
Has both outdoor and indoor sitting options.
The menu is well priced.
Definitely recommended.
Yum, yum and yum. A friend suggested we check this place out. So glad we did.
Sat outside, enjoyed the sample paddle and followed up with a few glasses of our favourites. Ordered a platter too which was all local produce.
The staff (family owned) were all lovely and had great banter. There's a real passion about this place.
Will tell everyone I know that's coming to the area to go and check it out.
Beautiful location and stunning views, delicious food and cider, very friendly and attentive staff. Would definitely recommend a stop here and I’ll definitely be back.
Loved it. Cider was varied, interesting and the family really do love what they do. The tasting board was a perfect amount to enjoy for two.
I'd go back for the view, the ambience and the cider, and I'd definitely go back for the warm and welcoming staff. What a wonderful experience!
Beautiful scenery and lovely, helpful staff. Very tasty Gippsland Spread platter and the cider tasting paddle is a great way to try the full spread of their ciders
The only point of improvement would be a rethink on the dessert provided with the platter as it was quite melted by the time wereached dessert time and maybe something a little more hear resistant would be the way to go.
The place was far beyond our expectations. Very tasty cider, great variety and jumbo size combo board with great selection of local sausages, cheeses and relishes. Also great place itself with a perfect view.
What can I say? Everything about this place is fantastic - the location, the venue, the staff and of course the cider (and cheese too).
We tried some really interesting, quirky and tasy ciders, along with a cheese board that was equally as good.
All the staff we spoke to were lovely, as well as being passionate about their products.
We had a great time here today - we will certainly be back next time we are in the area.
Thanks so much.
Had a lovely lunch today at Gurney's cidery. An amazing family business. Excellent friendly service. Tables were clean and staff were very fast and efficient! It's clear to see the family put so much hard work into providing a high quality experience. Would recommend to anyone in the South Gippsland area.
Beautiful serene and calm atmosphere. Wonderful service, helpful and polite as well as very welcoming. Great selection of 6 sample ciders complemented with local cheeses and produce. Highly recommend this place! I love a great cheese platter and this place certainly doesn’t disappoint. Oh forgot to mention, #glutenfree crackers
Great cider, great food, great service. Exceptional views. Would highly recommend the tasting paddle - the cider is unusual and delicious.
Had a great proughman’s platter with local cheese, salami and dips. The ginger and rhubarb perry is fab and the views are terrific. It’s great to see new businesses in South Gippsland going from strength to strength!
Had a fantastic time here last week! We had a chance to try the ice cider and it is truly the bomb! Ended up buying 5 bottles to bring home:) A lovely experience and I recommend anyone near the area to pop by
After discovering Gurney's cider at my local IGA we decided to go straight to the source.or in this case straight to the cidery. We were greeted very quickly by a lovely lady who welcomed us, explained the menu options and told us to make ourselves comfortable. The place was beautiful, the views were peaceful and there was even board games for the children to play. We ordered a cider paddle to sample all the ciders, they guy who bought our ciders to our table explained each cider and gave us some background, he had knowledge and he had pride and passion because he wasn't just a waiter but involved in the process of taking the apples from the tree to the bottle. We ordered a cheese board.all local produce, again all explained to us. This place was faultless and we left after buying 4 bottles of cider to take home.
