Gulmohar Indian Restaurant

I ordered food from Gulmohar via Uber Eats and all three dishes were excellent. Their Masala Soya Chaap is the best I have had so far. Will be ordering again.

This was an absolutely amazing place to eat at. My friend and I were unsure what to have since it was our very first night in Melbourne (not to mention first time EVER in Melbourne) and we ended up agreeing to go here for dinner.

I was absolutely blown away by the Lamb Rogan Josh I'd ordered and the onion bhaji was really good too.

I would 100% recommend visiting as the food they serve is top stuff.

Best butter chicken I've ever eaten, the saffron rice was awesome also. Highly recommended.

Great atmosphere apart from the Loud Indian music, staff very attentive, dropped a fork and was replaced in a flash thank you Gulmohar, quoting someone else but in a good way "I'll be baaack'

The food is always extremely delicious here! The staff are usually a bit snobby and ignore you. But apart from that i love coming here

I have been to a few traditional restaurants but this one surprised me and my family. Loved the authenticity of the cuisine and friendly customer service. The ambience is unique and worth a dining in or uber experience

Worst ever food I have ever taken from anywhere today. I took take away vegetarian Daal Makhani & Chilli Paneer. Daal was so Salty like it’s cooked in a pan of Salt. So bitter in taste. Paneer was like Rubber. We dine in there a week ago with family. It was nice. Was planning for a big party there. But they have got everything cancelled & normal visits as well. My Blood Pressure has gone up with Salty food yet I don’t have any health problem. Please take care of your health guys.

Last night I ordered paneer makhni and malai kofta which was really bad in taste and i threw the whole containers after taking one bite. Sorry to say but i did not like the taste.

Delicious Indian food. Went there with coworkers for our Christmas dinner. The portions are huge! Lots of flavours. Easy parking access and very friendly staff. We had a great service. Ambiance was good. Wasn’t a fan of the cocktail I ordered though, they added chilli and made it their version. Would I recommend this place? Yes, if you’re into Indian dishes!

I ordered food for party at my place. Everyone loved it. Food was more than delicious. I am glad I made best decision of catering from gulmohar. Special thanks for their on time delivery. Keep up good work guys

Neither the food nor the staff have shown any vitality. I did not see any of the staff smile the whole time I was there. The only thing edible was the Apple cider. I also did not feel that well after eating. The food was not fresh, and dried up. Do not eat at this place.

Butter chicken was a bit dark, kadhai paneeer and chicken biryaani was delicious. Overall good experience.

Ordered 3 curries:

Dal Makhni - 2 Star
Kadhai Paneer - 2 star
Goat Bhuna Masala - 0 star
Amritsari Kucha - 3 Star
Lemon lime bitter - 2 Star

To me it looks like over rated, I have tasted Indian cuisine much better than this in Melbourne!

Lemon lime bitter was too sweet.

Special mention about the pathetic Goat bhuna masala, purely plain with no taste whatsoever and appeared to be cooked in same curries as others, not recommended at all.

It would be nice at least if your staffs could smile when we approached the door for our booking.

We have been here for almost 1 hour now and hasn't seen any of your FOH staff smile/happy at all, they have approached put table 3 times in different occasion already.

I hope you will train your staffs for futire so none of your customer feel the same as us.

I'm the uber driver I went to pick up 2 orders by mistake front girl gave me wrong order I picked up and went when i reached at customer destination then she called me it's a wrong order seriously? It's alright it can happen by mistake then there is no need to give us bad rating it was not my fault I didn't pick order from kitchen they gave me if they are unprofessional they should change staff.

We had our twins 1st birthday party at Gulmohar restaurant and I couldn’t fault anything. Everything was just perfect. Vikram, Satwant and staff were very accommodating. The food was delicious. This place is perfect for dine in, take aways and parties for around 40-60 people. Thank you again for making the party so wonderful

We ordered dal makhni and paneer tikka masala which was horrible. Paneer curry was extremely extremely sweet felt like i had syrup not curry. I think you should taste food before serving. Thanks

Went to dine in, had a look at the menu and instantly noticed that my fingers were covered in disgusting old oil and black gunk (located in every single page of the menu and on their un-wiped tables).

Hygiene is not taken seriously here. 0 stars.

The owner replies to my review 6 months later when they weren't even there at the time.
A woman seated us in our seat and handed us menus. You're talking like we made every single mistake.

Usually I don't even leave reviews but the excuses you are giving me are not admissible.
We are not stupid, we know how oil feels and looks on our hands. Espeically when it leaves a disgusting black gunky residue!

Instead of lying, step up your standards and fire the lazy staff. I shouldn't be telling you how to run your business. The situation could have been avoided if you were there and did something about it. Although from what you're saying, you must have been too busy to care about your customers!

With this kind of delusional response, the only person who will be able to help your restaurant is Gordon Ramsay from Kitchen Nightmares because your kitchen is literally a nightmare!
