Grey Shark Fish & Chips

We have ordered from here before and loved it. But tonight having our same order was very disappointing. The grill fish was very greasy with too much crumbs/batter to fish. Could not eat it. Sorry.

Asked what type of oil was used and was told by the person behind the counter that they use animal fat - that is saturated fat and is very unhealthy - sad!

This place used to be the best.

Sadly it's just not good anymore.

The Ph service always make mistakes with orders, poor quality fish, cheap oil, who knows what other corners have been cut.

I just found a new fish n chips which is called Mako’s fish n chips. It is amazing place，just try.

Don’t know what all the fuss is about. Calamari rings are processed.
Batter pretty average. Obviously a bit overhyped. Had better. Sorry just my two cents.

I ordered the value pack for one as recommended by a positive reviewer because I couldn't see a menu online but it's no problem as I picked one up in store when I walked straight in and collected my seriously delicious meal. Good value too, $9.50you get a piece of flake, potato cake and a dim sim with a generous helping of perfect chips.
They are a pleasant friendly crew and have obviously mastered the deep fryer. I can't wait to try all the fritters and MARS BAR IN BATTER!

Favorite fish and chip shop! The chips are so crunchy and creamy! It's also really cheap! Definitely give these guys a try! Best I'm the area!

Hidden across the road from maroondah hospital, perfect to get your love one something yummy and delicious to eat. Perfect location to stop in and pick up.

Tried Grey Shark for the first time tonight. Friendly, polite staff, very clean shop too. We ordered the value pack for 2. Fish was a generous serve and thick too. The meal was lovely, still hot when we got home. Minimum of chips would’ve served 4-6 adults comfortably. Our new fish and chip shop, we’ll be back.

This is one of my favourite fish & chips stores in the area. My only issue is that the quality isn't always the same. Sometimes its amazing other times just okay.

Grilled fish excellent, chips good, potato cake not quite as good. They accept card payment which is great.

These guys did a great job of our order of $150+ and they managed it without batting an eye AND no mistakes. I found them a little oily for my liking so that's the 4 not 5 star reason. Would recommend. It was my first experience of Grey Shark and I wasn't disappointed.

Close to Maroondah hospital so can be a nice change from hospital food for patients or those just visiting.
They will deep fry, grill or steam the fish for you. Good serving of chips.
They don't take cards though. Cash only.

We have been obtaining our chips from Grey Shark for about 18 months and we have found them to be consistent with their food preparation.

Great service! I absolutely love the food and the people who work there, I highly recommend this place!

Went on Easter Friday, they had a sign up asking for patience as it was their busiest night of the year and it truly was. They could probably benefit from a tighter or more clear ordering/waiting system but the fish was fresh, deliciously cooked and chips and sides were done very well. Will easily return!
