Grassroots Deli Cafe

Squid is heavenly tasty. The fish wrap tastes juicy and yum. All good are fresh made after order. A little joy surprise on the way to great ocean rd!

The ambiance was very laid back and relaxing, perfect for a stopover after a long drive along the Great Ocean Road. Staff were very accommodating and friendly, despite them being short-staffed due to covid. The place was very busy and full of customers.

The food was amazing! I ordered the smoked salmon and everything on the plate was perfect. The serving was generous as well and worth every cent. Indeed, one of the best breakfasts I ever had.

Definitely worth a visit.

Enjoyed your breakfast (in the dark when the lights went out) we loved it so much we came back next morning for a second tasting)

We wanted eat lunch and we’ve arrived at 11: 24am.
They said breakfast finished and need to wait til 12pm for lunch
So we just had to have snacks only

Ordered the toasted fish wrap and a coffee and it came to under $20 for a perfect sized lunch. Delicious and great atmosphere + location.

Cute little place. Great egg and bacon rolls and coffee. Would have enjoyed a hash brown as well though if on the menu.

Great place! Firewood pizzas were delicious! We tried vegetarian and 3 cheese. Both yummy and home-made.
All people were friendly and smiley.
If weather permits you can sit at the verandah outside. Otherwise the interior is very cosy too!

My wife and I had a delightful lunch here. She had the salad and it was truly delicious. I had a great burger with excellent chips. And the place has a great atmosphere with excellent friendly service.

Went here on a weekday and the food was amazing. Ordered the chicken toastie and was the best chicken toastie that I have had in years.

Location of the cafe is the best. It's exactly in the middle of Port campbell near to the beach. The vibes of the cafe is great. Along with the ambience. The staff was friendly and cooperative. Too much rush on the weekends. But it's worth to have a food here. The quality of the food is outstanding and delicious. It's a perfect blend between quality and quantity. The price is also affordable and value for the money.

Understandably, the cafe was busy so I had come in with the expectation that the service was going to be a bit slow. While our coffee was served quickly, I thought it was a little strange to still be waiting nearly an hour for a breakfast menu. I’m not sure if this is the norm but hope it was just a one-off case but it was a little disappointing to have our food come out late with no apology; I’m not sure. Maybe a heads-up on how long it would take would have helped because we were left not knowing if the docket had been lost or not.

This mishap aside, the coffee was great and the food was fresh and beautifully presented, making for a hearty and homey breakfast. The retail shelves were also a joy to have surround us, allowing us to distract ourselves a little with some “window shopping”. Perhaps we would revisit if we had a little more time on our hands to spare.

We were intending to go to the pub for lunch, but it was shut so we tried the Grassroots. So glad we did! Delicious coffee, the chicken burger was great (and some of the best chips I’ve had) and loved the organic potions, creams and assorted homewares also on offer.
