Grassroots Deli Cafe

Bit underwhelmed with Vegetarian / Vegan options which should not be a big deal these days. Scrambled tofu is super simple for example.
Had avocado on sourghdough bread, however this felt more like a supermarket toast.
I am sure it's a delite for everyone eating eggs and bacon however the vegan side can still improve.

We came for breakfast and the place was absolutely packed so we decided to get takeout instead but it was still a bit of a wait

We loved it! The coffee, sausage roll, and caramel slice were all to die for.

Definitely the best spot in town.

We have had a wonderful time at the café. The meat pie was delicious, and so did the salad next to it. The muffin was also delicious (chocolate and berries). I would have happily tried more food, but I was full!
It's definitely a place to stop for any meal!

Terrible experience! It took them 25mins to give me a cappuccino to go! They are clearly inefficient or understaffed. Embarassing!

Cafe managed to make us egg-free/ vegetarian open toasts. They were delicious. Cafe Mocha was yummy

Really good food, big portions and lots of options. Nice, chilled atmosphere. Lunch is only served between certain times though and they stop serving food before the time advertised (12-3) so arrive before 2.30pm to avoid being disappointed!

Went there for lunch after visiting 12 apostles. The toasts were nice. Coffee and hot chocolate was ok.

Likely the best coffee I have had in all of VIC. The GF friand was unreal. Yummm yum! Highly recommend stopping here for treats and coffee!

A wonderful place to have lunch. A good selection of simple meals done well. We tried the house-made fish cakes, sausage roll and salad. All were great.

We were waiting around 40 minutes for four coffees. It seemed to be not that busy for such a long waiting. Overall, everything else was okay, not to mention dripping coffee from the cup

Nice but slightly shambolic. Strange that brekky ended 11 30, lunch menu noon, so in between toasty or croissant.

You can actually taste the coffee without having to ask for an extra shot as you do in so many other places because they make them so weak. 10/10

Good coffee and good spot to relax and chill after the beach. I had a rhubarb turnover and ice cream and it was really good.

We ordered the fish and chip but and the taste of asian salad, doughnuts and a cup of Soy cap. All was good. But the coffee took a long time. I finished the whole meal and I didnt have the coffee. So i asked to put in the takeaway cup. It was totally understandable because it was quite busy.

Many options for a vegetarian, which is rare.

Ordered a Halloumi burger, mushroom and blue cheese tart and a vegetarian gourmet sandwich.

All of them tasted great!

Very friendly staff and loved the way the cafe was decorated.

Highly recommend this cafe if you are traveling to 12 Apostles or Peterborough.

I had probably one of the best chocolate croissants during my stay in Australia here. The Flat White was great, too.

And there are a lot of cute & small gifts and stuff at the shop as well.

This place was great all round. Service, food and coffee was all just as good as you could get in Melbourne. They did close quite early but that is normal for a coastal town. Really reasonably priced compared to other cafes.

Grassroots Deli Cafe is simply gorgeous! True to its name, they sell a huge variety of handmade stuff like charms, oils, soaps, chocolates, preserves and all sorts of tiny little gifts! You can browse around (there is something on every wall and shelf to explore.) while you wait for your order (yes it is packed and very busy.expectedly so!)

I had a latte and a white choc blueberry muffin which was yummy! They have an extensive menu to choose from.the cafe seemed very popular with the locals and tourists alike!

So glad my wife and I had breakfast here this morning, this kept out tummy’s full the whole day and the food was absolutely amazing! Best breakfast I have had in a long time.will be back tomorrow! Also very friendly staff, certainly deserving of a five star rating.
