It's been a while since I visited but same great service and relaxed vibe in a great space. It caters to everything from families to business meetings. The salmon and gnochi were both excellent. Will definitely not leave it so long between visits again.

Excelente customer service and food.
The coffee was served very fast, long before the food but it's ok. Everything was delicious.

I don't like leaving negative/constructive reviews but if you're vegan, I wouldn't recommend. They had very few options and very few sides which was odd, and weren't very willing to accommodate. I paid $24 for a basic piece of toast, roast tomato, broccoli and spinach. My friend loved her non-vegan dish, so I don't want to tare anyone down but I was surprised that in Melbourne they didn't have many options. Hopefully in the future they can think about ways to be more inclusive.

I wouldn't recommend this place. Matcha was terrible and the manager was unwelcoming.

Best way to start the day, with savoury pancakes and nice coffee. Lots of options so you can't go wrong.

A bit pricey compared to other places. The service could use some more work. The lady running the floor served my plate on the empty space across from me without as much as an eye contact or confirmation. I had to wait a few seconds to confirm if it was my order and then had to pull the plate towards myself The ambience was nice. The food looked really appetising but was average at best and my coffee was lukewarm.

Beautiful place, the staff were lovely and very professional. I had the bagel which was nice and my friends enjoyed their meals. My latte was lukewarm but otherwise had great taste. Would definitely go again.

Good coffee but the middle aged, short haired waitress is always rude with terrible attitude

Avoid avoid avoid.

I visited the grain store a couple of months ago, and had a horrible experience that I really wanted to forget, yet after a friend reminded me of the place by telling of their own shocking experience, I felt compelled to write a review. I don’t normally review or comment, but I feel that places like this really should not gain support, and the public should be aware that they should spend their money elsewhere, in an establishment that will value them and their hard earned money.
Hospitality is a fickle game, and what so many fail to grasp is what ‘hospitality’ actually is. The Grain Store is one of these places.
I can envisage the day when the current owners decided to open a business - gathered around a table, discussing money. The topic of quality, honest, friendly service never left their lips. It was purely about money.
And this is evident in how it’s operated. From the gruff and surly host barking at customers and staff alike, to the excessive ‘extra’ charges that somehow end up on your bill (toast arrives cold, ask for hot toast, get charged. Want an extra egg instead of bacon, extra charge…).
It’s such a horrible situation that this world is in right now, and hospitality venues had been some of the worst hit, but this is so excuse to be rude to or extort customers.
Final words - if your in the area and looking for a bite - take 50 steps towards flinders street and eat at Hardware Society. At least you’ll leave feeling appreciated.

Went there three times already and the food and service is always excellent. Today I tried their porridge with rhubarb and turmeric. Omg, it was the best porridge I ever eat in my life. Soo delicious. Definitely will come back for more. Yum
Thank you

Went back to have their delicious cauliflower risotto which wasn't on the menu anymore. Ordered the Roasted Mixed Mushrooms instead which was equally delicious. I don't think I've tasted anything creamier than this before-so divine!

Good food, friendly staff, decent coffees and proper cocktails.
The sparkling water is not free by the way, consider yourself informed.
They've got pastries on offer too, and plenty of good selections before breakfast, lunch and brunch. Decently sized portions too and them being situated in the CBD (walking distance from the Southern Cross station) makes them perfect for catching up with friends.

A great little brunch place in the CBD. Your typical Melbourne brunch cafe affair; but some unique items and flavourful items. Big call out for the steak sandwich and the salmon risotto.

Place can get a little busy and the staff can sometimes be a bit rude and not as friendly as you'd hope. Overall solid for food but nothing too special.

If you want a bit of a luxe brunch (think lobster eggs benny) in a quieter end of the city, this is your spot. But I suggest booking. Very accommodating of dietary requirements. Service was great and food served quickly. Great coffee too.
Treat yourself to the fresh baked cookies with milk

Posh delicious city brunch spot. Dishes are creative and imaginative. Don’t like the weekend surcharge. Coffee is on point mind you.

This place always exceeds my expectations. Grilled pork belly was Divine - one of those awkward situations when you almost feel like licking the plate!
Coffee is amazing - smooth rich aromatic and flavoursome. Can't get enough of this place.
