GOON BBQ

If I could rate the restaurant with a 100 stars, I will. The food was great, the service was amazing and the ambience brought us to another place. It was my partners first time eating at a korean bbq, now I can’t remember the server name but he was amazing, he explain to us everything about the whole experience, he was so kind. The place was full of Koreans and still we felt like at home. I will come back soon!

Booked Saturday evening, had the beef and pork shared set menu.

Never have had Korean bbq before …

How was it? Especially good, lots of spices and new tastes, food was ample.
The theatre of cooking at your table the aromas and taking food off the grill,

Service, was very attentive and always ensuring your food was cooking or ready to eat. The same with beverages, cold and delicious.

Both visits amazing. Shared packages were filling for four both times. Attentive food cooking and good times!

Hole in the wall KBBQ restaurant that feels cozy and vibrant. Seriously one of the best restaurants if been to in a long time. Food was adequate. Got the pork and beef set which also came with 7 sides, and soju cocktail jug.
It was all so so good. The only thing I thought was eh was their Korean chicken, but I see it's just a side dish meant to add more to what you get so it's not any concern, and didn't ruin the meal.
Drink was really good! Didn't taste like alcohol either but walked out tipsy.
Service was incredible. Best service I've ever gotten from an Asian restaurant in my life hands down.
Gave me and my girlfriend a full and happy stomach.

Awesome food and plenty to go around
Had to wait a little longer than expected for the meat but they are a small Korean team.

Usually very fresh yummy food at Goon. However, I was disappointed with the rice ans the service this time.
The steamed rice was very dry, smelly as if it stayed warm in the rice cooker overnight. The young new waiter was rather cold, no expression on the face.

Food was amazing with v generous serves. Owners Jin and Dan were so fun and welcoming. Very fun night out. We’ll be back.

The staff are nice, but unfortunately we had to ask multiple times to get the right number of cutlery, cups, tables and seats, even though we had a booking. We really enjoyed the soft tofu and kimchi stews!

But I surprisingly the rice served was quite disappointing, it was dry and didn’t stick together well when you try to pick it up

Really cute spot in Collingwood, great Korean for for the area and when you don't feel like going into the city - service is A+!

Awesome night and dinner here. Centrally located on smith Street. Servers were very pleasant and efficient. Food was very yum. We also had korean wine which I'd never had before. (I liked it!). Servings were generous and everyone had a great time. Would definitely go again.

Feels like a tourist / non-Korean trap. Overpriced, low quality fare. Meats stank and gag inducing. Other dishes soaked in mayo, budget cheese, grease. Fried chicken not crunchy, poor quality thick batter. Environment noisy flashy and engineered to evoke nostalgia via popular 80-90s music. Maybe a great time for those unfamiliar w Korean BBQ but terrible for those looking for an authentic high quality experience; huge disservice to the cuisine

Okay, I go there 3 months ago, big lady korean worker not happy.why? I dont like manner. Food is okay. Other people kind.

Our new go-to place for kbbq. Welcoming and friendly staff and the food is delicious. For what you pay, the portions are very generous. Will be back soon!

You get a lot of food for your money but there's better Korean BBQ places in Melbourne that are cheaper. Staff kicking my chair when walking past has been quite annoying

The space was very small inside so we opted for sitting outside. We went with the army stew which took quite a while to come out. It didn't come with as many side dishes as the with the BBQ combos so we were a bit disappointed. All in all an ok experience.
